I hate it when individuals say, “well that is your opinion”, “no Scripture is of any private interpretation” meaning to the speaker that there are all types of interpretations for any verse, etc. Then the auto accident with many witnesses example is usually bought up. In the King James Version Bible, the word “opinion” is found only in Job 32:6, 10, and 17 in the passage said by one of Job’s antagonists who was trying to contradict what Job had said just in the previous chapter. The frequent talk of most is opinions and most preachers expound on opinions by creating spiritual theories. I believe that there is only one God-pleasing understanding of any verse in the Bible which we should be seeking. And none of the commandments (not the Old Testament ordnances) are not heavy theology; they are easy to understand in the reader's language or in any English translation for English readers. Even the Golden Rule has no deity mentioned. We would have a wonderful human society if just this commandment was lived by many individuals. Most of our mistakes are when we speak or do things in haste before we think of possible consequences. Philippians 2-3 and Ephesians 4:11-16 indicate that true Christians should spend a lot of time thinking about Jesus Christ. The second or third major theme in the Bible is truth. In Philippians 4:8 Paul said it was the first thing to think on and in Ephesians 6 the first piece of spiritual armor is truth. In both lists, faith or one of the other terms could have been put first because of chronological reasons or other reasons, but truth was because the main weapon of the spiritual enemy is untruthfulness in deceit (half-truth statements). You might sort of review the Bible and see how much truth and untruthfulness are indicated, compared to love and grace.
