096 Alaq

Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, In that he looketh upon himself as selfself-sufficient.

(The Clot) In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

١ 1.

 َ ََ ‫ ا ِي‬ َ ‫اْ َأْ ِْ ِ َر‬

Proclaim! (or Read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created --

 ٍ ََ ِْ ‫ن‬ َ َ !ِ ْ ‫ ا‬ َ ََ

٢ 2.

Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:

٣ 3.

Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful --

٤ 4.

َْْ,َ- َْ َ ‫ن‬ َ َ !ِ ْ ‫َ َ ا‬

Taught man that which he knew not.

/َ0ْ1َ2َ ‫ن‬ َ َ !ِ ْ ‫ن ا‬ ‫آَ  ِإ‬

٦ 6.

Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds,

٧ 7.

/َ5ْ0َ6ْ‫ ا‬7ُ 8 ‫أَن ر‬

In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient.

٨ 8.

ِ ََ*ْ ِ َ َ ‫ا ِي‬

He Who taught (the use of) the Pen --

٥ 5.

‫ ا ْ&َآْ َ ُم‬ َ '‫اْ َأْ َو َر‬

/َ,ْ:' ‫ ا‬ َ ‫ َر‬/َ ‫ن ِإ‬ ‫ِإ‬

Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all).
