Stratford Hall Plantation Stratford Hall, VA. All Breeds Welcome Open to All Disciplines OUR SPONSORS
STRATFORD HALL PLANTATION Stratford Hall Plantation was the home of four generations of the Lee family of Virginia. They include Revolutionary war hero, “Light Horse Harry” Lee, two signers of the Declaration of Independence, Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee, and Confederate General-in-Chief Robert E. Lee. Step back to the 1700’s and ride the trails with General Robert E. Lee as you ride the magnificent trails of this plantation. Ride over the working farm that is much the same as it was in the eighteenth century. Enjoy the spectacular view of the Potomac river from the cliffs. Look for the ever present wildlife that abounds here, including the majestic bald eagle. Step back in time to an unhurried time as you ride past the Mill where corn was ground or past the Devon cattle that were original to the plantation. Built in C. 1738, the house at Stratford Hall is considered one of the great houses of American history. Its magnificent setting on a high bluff above the Potomac River and its bold architectural style set it apart from any other colonial houses.
