This year’s MOPS is going to be a blast because…

Hey MOPS Gals!! We are all so excited to get this party started. Yes, we know it is not a party, but we feel like it is!

We are going to have another awesome year of getting to know some great moms. Marianne Little All types of moms get to come together to share, bond, and make new friends. Kristina Bennoch Life is so much better when you have other moms as friends to go through it with you! Lisa Guerrero How can it not be when our kids are getting loved on and we are having girlfriend time!! Allison Despres My oldest son is in kindergarten and it’s a whole new world for both of us. Bonnie Mancuso I get to go to MOPS Convention in Nashville in September! Last year’s convention was life changing, so I can’t wait to do some bonding with my fellow CBC MOPS leaders! Stacey Cates We will have yet another opportunity to connect with new moms. Laura Winston I’m really looking forward to the crafts and speakers we picked for this year. Margaret Welch I get to be with other moms who are just like me: ones who love their children, but not the mashed banana in their hair! Kelley Lacy

We get to hear fabulous speakers talk about stuff that we can actually apply to OUR life! Plus, there’s hot breakfast! What mom of preschoolers would not have a little mental party when having breakfast made by our own mentor moms!? Don’t forget the crafts or the discussion groups where we get to hang out with other moms. All while our kiddos are right here at CBC being lovingly cared for and learning about the love of our Lord! Your MOPS team of leaders has planned like crazy to make this a wonderful year, working on all the details that make every activity at our MOPS meetings fun and meaningful. This years’ theme is “Welcome to Planet Mom!” It deals with all the relationships that change after you have a baby: husband, friends, parents, the community, and even our relationship with our heavenly Father. They all change. We focused on supplying the tools to help with these changing relationships. The theme verse for this year is from Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” You are not alone. 5 Commandments of MOPS meetings Thou shalt eat breakfast while it’s hot and not cut their neighbor’s food into bite size pieces. Thou shalt feel free to leave your cell phone on for those important family calls, but respectfully take conversations to another room during our speaker. Thou shalt contact Marianne when you will miss a meeting so we are able to invite a mom from the wait list. Thou shalt pee in peace before discussion groups, but head to your location promptly so we can optimize small group time. Thou shalt pick up your children from MOPPETS before 11:45 am. Forgotten children will be given espresso and a free puppy.

Launch Schedule

Oasis begins at 6:30 pm on September 10th. It is a women’s evening with dinner, discussion, music, and a message. Purchase tickets for $10 online or in the women’s alcove. Childcare is available for single moms.

We’ll be distributing a list of our moms that have home-based businesses with our MOPS directory. If you want to be included, please send your information to [email protected].

Morning Watch bible study begins at 10:00 am on September 22nd. You can register for $20 online or in the women’s alcove. Childcare available by reservation only.

Bring any unwanted issues of MomSense magazine to MOPS meetings and we will donate them to Care Net Pregnancy Center.

Care Net Pregnancy Center will be having their annual fundraiser and silent auction on October 8th from 6-9 pm.

Bring a photo of your children to our meeting on September 18th. We’ll be putting them on our backdrop. They are the stars of our show.

Make sure you check out the new driving laws that went into effect on September 1st. Affecting moms is a law requiring children younger than 8 years of age to be in approved safety seats and a law making it illegal to use wireless communication devices in school zones unless you are stopped or using a hands-free device.
