Board of Directors Bill #1.006 24th Session April 12, 2008 Submitted by: Brianne Wood, VP of Legislative Affairs A RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE WSL "LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR" 2008 WHEREAS: the Washington Student Lobby works closely with legislators on issues of higher education policy and funding; and WHEREAS: the year 2008 was a year of significant progress for higher education funding and policy legislation; and WHEREAS: many members of the Washington State Legislature were helpful to achieving the goals of the Washington Student Lobby, and, WHEREAS: two members in particular, including one from each chamber, deserve our appreciation and support for their dedication to student issues, attention to student concerns, and support of higher education in the State of Washington; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WASHINGTON STUDENT LOBBY BOARD OF DIRETORS: THAT: the recipients of the 2008 “Legislator of the Year Award” are Representative _________________ and Senator _________________; and THAT: the WSL sincerely thanks Representative _________________ and Senator _________________ for the work they have done for students and for higher education; and THAT: the WSL congratulates Representative _________________ and Senator _________________ on a successful legislative session and looks forward to working with them in the future.
