Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event) -- The Day when Man shall remember (all) that he strove for,
(Those Who Tear Out) In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
ًَْ ت ِ َوَا ِز
١ 1.
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence;
ًَْت ﻥ ِ َِ وَا
٢ 2.
By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed);
٣ 3.
4.
5.
And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy),
٤
ً َْ ت ِ َ ِ َ!
٥
ًْا#ت َأ ِ َا%&َ ُ(َْ!
Then press forward as in a race,
Then arrange to do (the commands of their Lord) --
٦ 6.
ًَْ ت ِ َِ وَا
*ُ َ+ِ, ا اُ ُ,َْ. ْ َم0َ1
One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion,
٧ 7.
Followed by oft-repeated (commotions):
٨ 8.
ٌ*َ+ِ, وَا:ٍ ِ;َ#ْ0َ1 ٌب0ُ=ُ
Hearts that Day will be in agitation;
٩ 9.
*ُ َ!َ ا ا ِد3ُ4َْ5َ.
ٌ*َ4َِ? ََ ُرهBَْأ
Cast down will be (their owners') eyes.

اَْ!ِ َ ِةDِ! ن َ ن َأﺉِ َ(َْدُودُو َ 0ُ0ُ َ1
10. They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state?" --

ِ َ ًةI ً ﻥ#َJِ َُا آ:َِأﺉ
11. "What! -when we shall have become rotten bones?"
١٢
ٌ ِإذًا آَ ةٌ ?َِ َةN َ ْ=ِ. ا0َُ
12. They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"
١٣
ٌْ َةٌ وَاﺡِ َ&ة, َزD َ ِﻥ (َ هPِ َ!
13. But verily, it will be but a single (compelling) Cry.
١٤
ِ هِ َ ِةQُذَا هPِ َ!
14. When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment).
١٥
Rَ0ُ# S ُ 1ِ&َك ﺡ َ َ.ْ أUَه
15. Has the story of Moses reached thee?
١٦
ًى0ُW س ِ & َ ُ(َْا ِد ا0ِْ Yُ Zِإذْ ﻥَدَا ُ[ َر
16. Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley to Tuwa --
١٧
Rَ\َW Yُ ن ِإﻥ َ ْ0َِْ! Rَاذْهَ]ْ ِإ
17. "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds.
١٨
R َ َ^آ. أَنRَ ِإN َ Uَْ هUُ َ!
18. "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)? --
١٩
RَْIَ5َ! N َ % َرRَ ِإN َ َ1&ِ َْوَأه
19. "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?' "

َ َ* اْ_َُْى1`َْرَا ُ[ اaَ!
20. Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign.
٢١
RَBَب َو َ : َ_َ!
21. But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance);
٢٢
Rَ4َْ1 َ َْ َأدQ ُb
22. Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah).
٢٣
!َََ َ !ََدَى
23. Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation,

٢٤
Rَ=َْaْ اQُ ُ_Z!َ َ َل َأﻥَ َر
24. Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High."
٢٥
Rَُوaْ ﻥَ_َ َل اْ`?ِ َ ِة وَاYُ = ُ[ ا:َ َ?َaَ!
25. But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him -- in the Hereafter, as in this life.
RَْIَ1 dَ(% ِْ َ ًة4َ N َ ِ َذDِ! ن

26. Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah):
٢٧
َ& ?َ=ْ ً َأ ِم ا (َء ََهZ َْ َأQُ5َأأَﻥ
27. What! are ye the more difficult to create of the heaven (above)? (Allah) hath constructed it:
٢٨
َ اه0ََ! َ3َ_ْ(َ fَ َ!َر
28. On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection.
٢٩
ََُهg ج َ َ ْ?َ َوَأ3َ=ْiَ j َ ََْوَأ
29. Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendor doth He bring out (with light).
٣٠
َ َدﺡَهN َ ِْ َ& َذ4َ ض َ َْرaْوَا
30. And the earth, moreover; hath He extended (to a wide expanse):
َََْه#َءهَ َو# َ3ِْ# ج َ َ ْ?َأ
٣١
31. He draweth out therefrom its moisture and its pasture;
٣٢
ََِ َل َأرَْهlْوَا
32. And the mountains hath He firmly fixed --
٣٣
ْQُ_ِ#َ4َْﻥaِْ َوQُ_ ًَ5َ#
33. For use and convenience to you and your cattle.
٣٤
ُ* اْ_َُْى# ت ا ِ َء, ذَاPِ َ!
34. Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event) --
٣٥
Rَ4َ َ# ن ُ َِﻥPْآ ُ ا:َ َ5َ1 ْ َم0َ1
35. The Day when Man shall remember (all) that he strove for,

ََى1 dَ(ِ Qُ iَِlْت ا ِ َز% َُو
٣٦
36. And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see --
٣٧
Rَ\َW dَ# #َaَ!
37. Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds,
َiْ&ﻥZ َ َة اiََْ َ اbmَو
٣٨ 38. And had preferred the life of this world,
٣٩
ْوَىaَ(ْ اD َ ِ هQَ iَِlْن ا
Pِ َ!
39. The Abode will be Hell-Fire;
٤٠
َى0َ3ْ اd ِ َ n َ ْ+ اRَ3َ َوﻥYِ %َ َ َم َر# ف َ َ? ْdَ# #َوَأ
40. And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower Desires,
٤١
ْوَىaَ(ْ اD َ َِ َ* هlْن ا
Pِ َ!
41. Their abode will be the Garden.
٤٢
ََُْه# ن َ 1 ا َ ِ* َأd ِ َ N َ َﻥ0َُaَْ1
42. They ask thee about the Hour -- 'When will be its appointed time?'
٤٣
َ ِذآَْاهdِ# p َ أَﻥQَ iِ!
43. Wherein art thou (concerned) with the declaration thereof?
٤٤
ََه3َ5ُ# N َ % َرRَِإ
44. With thy Lord is the Limit fixed therefor.
٤٥
ََْهIَ1 dَ# ُر:ِ ُ# p َ ِإﻥ (َ أَﻥ
45. Thou art but a Warner for such as fear it.
٤٦
ََُهg ْ ً* َأوiَِ ا ِإ0ُqَْ=َ1 ْQَ َ3ََ َوْﻥ1 ْ َم0َ1 ْQُ3 َﻥaَآ
46. The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn!
