KNOWELDGE OF THE ABSOLUTE Lord Krsna said, Though sages, puranas and devotees, In the past have amply sung My glories, Yet, hear from Me now My opulence, O Partha, My nature and My expansions. \\1\\ What is universe and supreme spirit? Cause of causes and knowable complete! That with and without attribute and form, Infinite, eternal, with mystic charm? Knowing which, what more you need? But My devotion and My love indeed! \\2\\ One in few thousands, endeavor perfection, One in perfected thousands, to My affection. 7/1

Mind, intelligence, ego and ether, Earth, air, water and fire, Are part of My energy and matter, Known as an apara, the inferior \\4\\ Limitless are My energies, O mighty. Para, know thou, is My superior energy. By the union of para and apara, Is born this universe, charachara. \\5\\ Never ending source of all energy! Who else can be there, but for Me. Matter and spirit: I am the owner, I am the creator and annihilator. \\6\\ Nothing can surpass Me, O conqueror, And no truth to Me is superior. As pearls pass thru single thread, So does every one rest on My head. \\7\\ I am light in sun and test in water, Ability in man and sound in ether, Sweet fragrance in earth and heat in fire, Sacred Om, I am every life’s flavor. I am gentle puff of the breeze. Rippling of water flowing with ease.

Prowess of powerful, intelligence of intelligent, Seed I am of everything, that’s existent, Strength of strong devoid of desire, Sex approved by dharma, O dear. \\10\11\\ Goodness, passion and ignorance, Rest in Me, but affect not My parlance Purity I am in a woman, And her motherly charm, O son. \\12\\ Deluded by nature, people forget Me, The inexhaustible source of all energy! \\13\\ None ever can overcome this illusion Without surrendering unto Me, O son Those that relentlessly worship Me, From ocean of birth and death get free. \\14\\ Distressed, inquisitive, jnani and desirers Are four kinds of My worshippers, But, are not really true devotees, As they worship with some motives. \\15\\

One in full knowledge of Me, Free of desires Worships Me, With full faith and truth loves Me, My best and dearest devotee is he \\16\17\\ Though most devotees are magnanimous, One with full knowledge is unanimous. Who, with pure love, attains Me, And in My color dissolves fully. \\18\\ One may need births, to know Me truly. Such souls come into being very rarely, Who see Me in everything and every heart, And know Me as the only truth, O Partha. \\19\\ As one’s own qualities and natures, One craves for worldly desires, Worships demigods for easy gains, From My worship he abstains. \\20\\ Whoever worships whatever Deity, In Him steady I faith of the devotee. \\21\\ This faith in deity I only induce, By My mercy get them their dues,

They are unaware of My game, Pure bhaktas, but chant My name. \\22\\ Worshippers of demigods are lewd, By fruits that are quick and short lived. Pure devotees worship Me, The Supreme, By day and night, and even in dream. \\23\\ To think Me, simply as a great person! Know it as only a fool’s conviction. Though Vedas have talked infinite, Must one finally surrender unto My feet. \\24\\ For fools and ignorants manifest I never, By My potency I do Myself cover. Unborn, infallible I am the maintainer, Of all the universes I am the creator. \\25\\ I am past, present and future, Continual time wheel, rotating ever; Every entity and activity I control But, none clearly is aware of My role. \\26\\ Deluded and bewildered by anger and desire, Think they themselves as sole proprietor,

Good or bad, honor or dishonor, See not in oneness, pain or pleasure. \\27\\ Free of sins and impious activities, Shunning desires and dualities, Pious serve Me only in devotion, Crooks and atheists but never! O son. \\ 28 \\ Birth, old age, disease and death, Not the soul, but body suffereth. Yogis taking refuge in Me with faith, Are free from miseries, birth and death. \\29\\ Those who know Me as the truth absolute, And dance to the divine tune of My flute, Know them, as My devotees resolute; Who while quitting take only to My route. \\30\\
