BUT HOW SHALL WE EVER BE HOLY? 07-02-06 (Isa 64:6) But we are all as an unclean thing [because we are “of the earth, earthy” 1 Cor 15:47], and all our righteousnesses are [covering us] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf [of a tree]; and our iniquities [perversities, evils: faults, sins], like the wind, have taken us away [and only God can save us]. 1. (Rom 8:14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 2. Commentary: If we are not led by the Spirit of God, the “good” that we do is fruit that is originated from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Satan’s tree), and covers us “as filthy rags” to the Lord. If we are led by the Spirit of God, the “good” that we do is fruit that is originated from the tree of life (Christ’s tree), and covers us as a white garment of righteousness to the Lord. 3. (Rev 19:7,8) Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen [white linen /// to bleach, be white], clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (Exo 30:22-30) Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: And thou shalt make it an oil of holy [qodesh] ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil. And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony, And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense, And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot. And thou shalt sanctify [qodesh] them, that they may be most holy [qodesh qodesh]: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy [qodesh]. And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate [qodesh] them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office. 1. holy = Heb: godesh; to be (make, pronounce or observe as) clean (ceremonially or morally):--appoint, bid, consecrate, dedicate, hallow, (be, keep) holy (-er, place), keep, prepare, proclaim, purify, sanctify (-ied one, self), X wholly. 2. anointing = Heb: unction (the act); by impl. a consecratory gift:--(to be) anointed (-ing), ointment /// to rub with oil, i.e. to anoint; by impl. to consecrate; also to paint:--anoint, paint. 3. (Exo 27:9) And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen [bleached stuff, i.e. white linen] of an hundred cubits long for one side: 4. (Isa 61:3) To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. 5. (Dan 7:9,10) I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. 6. toucheth = Heb: to touch, i.e. lay the hand upon (for any purpose): join. “WHATSOEVER TOUCHETH THEM SHALL BE HOLY” (Mat 9:20-22) And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him [behind Jesus, on His way to the house of Jairus: Mark 5:22; Luke 8:41], and touched the hem [a margin, (spec.) a fringe or tassel: border] of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole [sozo]. And the woman was made whole [sozo sozo; ("safe"); saved, delivered or protected: healed, preserved] from that hour. 1. How did the woman’s faith make her whole? 2. (Prov 8:17) I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. 3. (Mat 7:7,8) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

(Mat 14:34-36) And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole [diasozo diasozo diasozo; saved thoroughly, cured, preserved, rescued, etc.: escape (safe), healed, saved]. 1. diseased = Gk: bad (phys. or mor.): amiss, diseased, evil, grievously, miserably, sick, sore /// worthless (intrinsically such), i.e. (subj.) depraved, or (obj.) injurious: bad, evil, harm, ill, noisome, wicked. Amen
