• Inflammatory with irritating for a long time SO2, smoke, dust and NOx in air can irritate airway mucus in different degrees, cause mucus secretion increasing, mucus layer becoming thick and dense, movement inhibition even disappearing finally, thus lead to airway resistance decreasing and inducing all kinds of diseases.

• Lots of materials showed that city air pollution was the direct or indirect cause of inhabitant’s respiratory tract diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and other diseases.

• In recent 100 years, morbidity and mortality rate of respiratory tract diseases increased in each big city in the world, in Europe, North America and Japan, the diseases increased 9 times in these 20 years.
