OHIO COMMUNITY THEATRE ASSOCIATION SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY THEATRE AWARD 2009

Purpose: To recognize an individual or a theatre from each of the five Ohio Community Theatre Association (OCTA) regions who/which has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the pursuit of community theatre.

Criteria: Any person may nominate an individual or theatre as a candidate for this award. The nomination must be made in writing on the form provided by OCTA. The nominator may provide additional supporting materials if desired, but the form is the only document required for consideration for the award. A candidate for this award should exemplify the spirit of community theatre in his/her/its sharing of talent and resources with other theatres, impact in the community, involvement in the promotion of theatre in the youth/disabled/minority population, or any other commitment to community theatre that the nominator believes is commendable.

Selection Process: Nomination forms shall be given to a regional representative in the region where the nominated individual/theatre is located no later than July 15th. The regional reps shall turn over all nomination forms to the chair of the Administrative Division at the July 18th OCTA Board meeting. The committee formed for selection of the Hall of Fame Award(s) shall review the nominations and may, but is not required to, choose a winner from each region.

Award: The award(s), which shall be in the form of a small trophy or plaque, will be presented at the OCTA Annual Conference.
