Writing task:
The chart and graph below give information about sales and share prices for CocaCola. Write a report for university lecturer describing the information shown below.
________________________________________________
The pie chart shows the percentage of total bottles of Coca-Cola sold all over the world in 2000, and the graph illustrates the changes in share price between 1996 and 2001.
According to the pie chart, Coca-cola sold a total of 17.1 billion dollars of their fizzy drink worldwide in 2000. North America kept the highest proportion, which was 30.4% of the total volume. The second highest was Latin America (25.7%). Asia and Europe purchased 16.4% and 20.5% of the total volume respectively. The lowest purchase (7%) was in Africa and Middle East.
It is apparent from the graph that there has been a dramatic fluctuation in Coca-Cola share price since 1996. In that year, the share price was valued just under $35, but it jumped sharply to approximately $69 in 1997. It hit a trough in mid-1997, but then reached a peak at $80 in mid-1998. From then until 2000, its value fell dramatically, reaching a low point of $48 in 2000 but there was a slight recovery in mid-2000.
