Where Is My Love? By Ricardo Saul LaRosa I prayed a silent prayer in the night, I stretched out my arms and opened my hands in reverence and hope, I asked for forgiveness of all my offenses, Known and unknown, In action and in thought, I asked for guidance and purification of my body and spirit-mind, I prayed for those suffering and most in need, I expressed a thousand thanks in gratitude for all that I have been given, For truly my cup overflows, heavenly, I count myself fortunate amongst the masses, A warm abode and food I have never been without, I have never seen war nor hurt by them, I have never known hunger or thirsted for clean water, For this and much, much more I am very thankful, I have prayed even for my enemies, As the Great Buddha has taught us, I pray that the Great Spirit of the universe may touch their hearts, As my heart has been touch and made anew with an overflowing of love and happiness, May they change their ways and renew their lives to righteousness, May they become seekers of the Eternal Truth as I have, I have forgiven them endlessly in my heart for the wrongs they have done me, I wish them well and all good blessings, I hold malice towards none, And I am at peace, Yet, a true love in this life has eluded me still, And I do not know why? It has caused me great sorrow and lonliness, The tears I cry never seem to dry, I do not understand why, Because I am not a bad person, I tried and tried always to be good, just, and kind to all, No matter who, no matter where, no matter what, Still, I have no love; I am alone, I am only a man though I am strong and radiant, At timers I feel weakness and scared of the unknown, It overpowers me making me sad as I am tonight, I want to cry; even though there are tears fogging my eyes, I can not cry anymore, © 2009 Ricardo Saul LaRosa

Excerpt from POET IN EXILE My emotions are dry; my heart numb; my soul indifferent, I feel as though the life in me has been exhausted, Even the solace of sleep has abandoned me, I can not sleep, I am condemned to the cold realization of my loneliness, I can only assume that this is my punishment, I don’t know why, And if this is so than I respectfully accept it, But I have not been given a reason, I am left wondering, And this is the greatest torment of all, Great Spirit of the universe; I respectfully invoke your blessed name, Tonight I am feeling weak and lonely, I ask you to hold me in the warmth of your love as you have always held me all the days of my life, I ask you to embrace me with the seven glories of your infinite powers, I ask you to wipe away all the tears from my heart and soul, I ask you to renew the faith within myself and all the powers I have been given since before time which is my birthright, Great Spirit of the universe, Thank you for filling my life with your radiance, Thank you for lifting me up when I have fallen down as I did tonight, Great Spirit of the universe, Thank you for letting me understand though a true love does not accompany me, Yet, I am not alone! I am not alone! I am not alone! Great Spirit of the universe, Thank you for opening my mind to the wisdom of righteousness, Thank you for claming my wondering spirit tonight, Great Spirit of the universe, Thank you for making me with a happy heart with joy for all, Thank you for the river of life that runs through my veins, For truly I have been blessed, King David one as blessed as you has surfaced here on Earth! And my cup runneth over, too! I am blessed! I am blessed! I am blessed!
