What Are The Seraphims Of Isaiah Six? P____ wrote: I want to thank you for your article on Base Metals in Scripture. I just finished reading them for the first time and will reread them soon. The second and subsequent readings are often more beneficial than the first. In this instance the first reading was so full of meat, I may start rereading them when I finish this email.. Thanks again for your work and faithfulness. P____ Thank you for taking the time to express your gratitude. I think I personally got more out of that study on copper than any of the others. I have always wondered why God had beasts around His throne: Eze 1:5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. Eze 1:6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. Eze 1:7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet [was] like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. Eze 1:8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings. Eze 1:9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. Eze 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. But I especially wondered what was the significance of the seraphims mentioned in Isaiah six: Isa 6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Isa 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. Isa 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Isa 6:4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Isa 6:5 Then said I, Woe [is] me! for I am undone; because I [am] a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Isa 6:6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, [which] he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: Isa 6:7 And he laid [it] upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. This ought to sound very familiar to anyone who has read the book of Revelation: Rev 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. Rev 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast

had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about [him]; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. I think you already know that those four beasts reveal to us who they symbolize: Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. Rev 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. The 'us' and the 'we' of these verses are none other than God's elect overcomers:" Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: Rev 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. So it is obvious that the seraphim of Isaiah and the four beasts of Ezekiel 1 and ten and the four beasts of Revelation four and five, are but two symbols of the same thing. But what exactly is a 'seraph?' Here is what is a seraph: Num 21:1 And [when] king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took [some] of them prisoners. Num 21:2 And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities. Num 21:3 And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah. Num 21:4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. Num 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for [there is] no bread, neither [is there any] water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. Num 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Num 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. Num 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent [Hebrew - seraph], and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. Num 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass [the Hebrew here is not seraph, meaning 'fiery' but the Hebrew here is nachash - serpent], and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. Why is there anything around God's throne which is connected with serpents, beasts or the number six? Here is how the serpent is connected with the beast. I am well aware that the beasts

around the throne are not wild beasts, and I have no doubt that the seraphims have also been domesticated, but a beast is still a beast, and a serpent is still a serpent. This is the function of the serpent: Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. I am sure that you already know that the dragon and the serpent are one and the same: Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. So the beast is empowered by the serpent who "was more subtil than any beast of the field." Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? So what is the message of having all of these creatures around the throne of God? Well, here is the little known Truth of what that beast called Adam signifies: Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure [Greek - tupos - type] of him that was to come. So Paul tells us that that inward beast, better known as Adam, is a type of Christ. If Adam is a "figure of Him that was to come," what then was the seraph, that "fiery serpent?" John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? [like fiery serpents around the throne of God] John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven. John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life . So just as people looked on the "fiery serpent" and lived, anyone who believes in Christ "should not perish but have eternal life." That copper serpent, those beasts, the six wings and even the first Adam, are all one and the same. They all typify "Christ in you the hope of glory;" a very well hidden secret indeed: Col 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of [the] Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Col 1:26 Even the mystery [Greek= secret] which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

I already know that I will be called a blasphemer by some for pointing out these verses. But like our Savior, we need to come to the point that we to are willing to acknowledge that Adam is also the "son of God," and with Christ, be willing to bear the shame of "while he is yet a sinner...being called his brother:" Luke 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God. Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Heb 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, They are all "of God" and Christ "is not ashamed to call them brothers." So we have...: Rev 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. Rev 4:8 (a) And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; ...and: Isa 6:2 (a) Above it stood the seraphims [fiery serpents]: each one had six wings; ...all to be found around and in the midst of the throne of God. Rev 4:6 And before the throne [here was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst [Greek - middle] of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. These "four beasts" are also called "cherubims," and they were woven into the curtains of the tabernacle of Moses and the temple of Solomon. They begin in the garden of Eden, with but two wings, "guarding the way of the tree of life, then we see them with four wings in Ezekiel 1 and 10. By the time they are revealed in their fullness, they each have six wings which connect these beasts forever with their origins as sons of mankind, The name Christ used more than any other: Matt 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. According to e-sword, the phrase 'son of man' is in God's Word 193 times, and is used to describe Christ in the New Testament 85 of those 193 times. Well, I didn't mean to rewrite that study, which you will be getting soon. We are a little behind in getting the CDs out to Deedle to be posted on the site, but Lord willing, that too, will be done soon. You are a real encouragement, P____. I look forward to seeing you and B____ in Indianapolis in a few more weeks. Your brother in the Christ, Mike
