Basic Information - Those female Anopheles mosquitoes feed on human for food. - Causes serious health problem or sometimes death. - About 1700 Malaria cases are reported in the US each year. - Mostly found in tropical and subtropical areas. - People with sickle cell disease have protective from Malaria.

What are the symptoms of Malaria? - shaking chills that can range from moderate to severe
- Diarrhea - Anemia
- high fever profuse sweating
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Convulsion
- Nausea
- Coma
- Vomiting
- Bloody stool
- Abdominal pain
Treatments for Malaria - Treatment of malaria depends on the species of malaria, as well as on the severity of the disease. - No preventative strategy is 100% effective - The WHO recommended first-line treatment for the majority of malaria cases called “ACT” or artemisinin-based combination therapy - the treatments recommended for all cases of uncomplicated falciparum malaria
