LP 6
CHRONIC INFLAMMATION Definition : The chronic inflammation represents a long lasting inflammatory process (weeks, months, years) associated with: -Important tissue destruction -Inflammatory infiltrate form by lymphocytes, plasma cells, macrophages -Conective tissue repair
Nonspecific: presents a diffuse or focal inflammatory infiltrate with mononucleate cells. Specific (granulomatous): Immune • Caseous • Non caseous Nonimmune • Forein body gtranuloma
TUBERCULOUS INFLAMMATION
The characteristic microscopic lesion (irrespective of where it is located) is: TUBERCULOUS GRANULOMA :
giant multinucleate
cells (Langhans); epithelioid cells; lymphocyte; Caracteristic aspects :
- Tendancy to fusion; - Tendency to caseous necrosis.
