CHRONIC INFLAMMATION Definition : The chronic inflammation represents a long lasting inflammatory process (weeks, months, years) associated with: -Important tissue destruction -Inflammatory infiltrate form by lymphocytes, plasma cells, macrophages -Conective tissue repair

Nonspecific: presents a diffuse or focal inflammatory infiltrate with mononucleate cells. Specific (granulomatous):  Immune • Caseous • Non caseous  Nonimmune • Forein body gtranuloma

TUBERCULOUS INFLAMMATION

The characteristic microscopic lesion (irrespective of where it is located) is: TUBERCULOUS GRANULOMA :

giant multinucleate

cells (Langhans);  epithelioid cells;  lymphocyte; Caracteristic aspects :

- Tendancy to fusion; - Tendency to caseous necrosis.

ACTINOMYCOSIS It is produced by Actinomyces israeli

Microscopic: (histologic section through pus):

Bacterial colony – intense basophile; - filamentous.

Around - purulent exudate.
