Republic of the Philippines Marasbaras National High School MAPEH UNIT September 20, 2018 I.

Objectives At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: A. Describe the nature and background of Volleyball B. Execute the basic skills in Volleyball in a team game tournament C. Develop social skill by working within a group

II.

Subject Matter Topic: Volleyball (Nature and Background of the sport, Facilities and Equipment, Rules and Regulations, Basic Skills) Materials: Laptop, Projector, PPT Presentation, Volleyball ball, net, timer, whistle Reference: Physical Education and Health (Grade 8 Module)

III.

Procedure Motivation The teacher will let the students play “Pass the ball”. She will play a music while the students are passing the ball. When the music stops, the students will also stop passing. The student who got the ball will answer a question prepared by the teacher.

A. Activating Prior Knowledge The teacher will activate the prior knowledge of the students through connecting the game to the lesson. She will also ask the students these questions: 1. Are you familiar with this game? 2. What do you think is our lesson all about? B. Acquire New Knowledge To follow is the discussion about: 1. Volleyball (Nature and Background of the sport, Facilities and Equipment, Rules and Regulations, Basic Skills)

C. Application Activity #1. This time, the teacher will demonstrate the basic skills in playing Volleyball. She will also have a return demonstration with the students.

D. Assessment The teacher will now group the class into 4. Each group will execute all the basic skills of volleyball.

Evaluation The class will be divided into two (2) teams and they will play Volleyball. The team who got the most number of points will be the winner.
