INTRODUCTION Our project is based on the design and analysis of the
multi-storied buildings. Live loads and dead loads are taken into consideration and analysis is done manually. Notation adopted through out the project is same as in IS-456-2000. Utility of building : Residential building Shape of the building : Rectangular Type of walls : Brick wall Number of floor : G+12 Number of flats : 441 . Its consists of 2 blocks [A&B]
Geometric details Floor Height
: 3.0 M Height of Plinth : 0.6 M Depth of Foundation :1.8M Concrete Grade: m40 REINFORCEMENT of Grade Fe550 Bearing Capacity of Soil: 3240 kN/m2 Type of Construction: R.C.C
FOOTINGS A concrete support under a foundation that rest in
soil ground is called a footing .Footings distribute the weight of super structure over the ground to provide stability to super structure. It will be design according to the loads of the super structure and soil bearing capacity. The purpose of footings is to support the foundation and prevent settling.
TYPES OF FOOTING USED AT OUR CONSTRUCTION SITE STEPPED FOOTING 2. COMBINED FOOTING 1.
STEPPED FOOTING
COMBINED FOOTING
Grade of concrete used at our site is M40 Pedestal height minimum 300mm and maximum
3times least lateral dimension. Above footing upto basement level. All mains bars should be Fe500. Clear cover for reinforcement for footing is 50mm. Reinforcement shall be high strength. Concrete shall be machine mixed and vibrated. Maximum water cement ratio w\c=0.4 Mix proportion : 1:6 Size of plinth beam : 300x450
COLUMN Column or a pillar in architecture and structural
engineering is a element that transmits, through compression ,the weight of a structure about to other structural elements below. RCC column are based on shapes, length and force according to their structure. Total number of columns : 164 . Total number of rods in each : 10. Grade of cement :m30 Sizes of columns : 600x200 , 750x200 ,900x200,1050x200 Clear cover used : 40mm
The figure shows
the different sizes of the columns used in our construction site based on the requirement of load conditions. Lap length of column; 50d or 48d
BEAM A beam is astructural element that primarily resist
load applied laterally to the beam axis.its mode of deflection is primary by bending.beams are characterised by support ,shape of c/s ,length and their material.
Beam specifications Grade of concrete : M20 Reinforcement shall be high strength Deformed &main bar: Fe 550 steel .
Clear cover in beam: 25 mm.
SLAB A concrete slab is the common structural element of a
modern building. Horizontal slab of steel reinforced concrete are used for construction floors and ceilings, while thinner slabs are used for exterior paving.
SLAB SPECIFICATION Thickness of slab :125mm. Grade of concrete :M20. Clear cover : top : 15mm
bottom: 20mm Crancked length at a distance of L/4. If Ly/Lx < 2, it is called two way slab. Similarly,Ly/Lx>2,it is one way slab.
