Using TMS to schedule ITV conferences.

5) Set start and end times and duration will set itself.

1) Point your browser (Firefox or Internet Explorer: Chrome does not currently work) to:

2) To schedule a conference hover over ‘Booking’

6) Under ‘Advanced Settings’ you can set the picture mode, and bandwidth. We don’t use ISDN, and secure is always set to ‘If Possible’. If scheduling any ITV-1 (or any NMC) node, bandwidth must be set to 768 kbps. Choose Voice Switched or Continuous Presence for Picture Mode, depending on what the instructor or meeting planner has requested.

3) In the list that drops down select ‘New Conference’ 7) Click the ‘Add participants’ button to… add… participants.

4) Under Basic settings you can title the conference and set its type. Always use ‘Automatic Connect’. Use conventions to schedule classes and meetings.

8) Select the ‘nodes’ you want to participate in the conference. If a node appears in red, it is already scheduled for your selected times. Always select the ‘bridge’ node as it is required to run the conference. When ready, click

‘ok’ at the bottom.

It is not necessary to set reoccurrence at all. You may bypass steps 9 through 10 if the conference will not reoccur. 12) Your participants will now appear under the ‘Participants’ tab. Again, if any are red, they are in use for your selected time.

9) You may also set the conference to reoccur daily, weekly, or monthly under the ‘Recurrence Settings…’ button to the right.

10) Once the recurrence settings window pops up (ensure popups are enabled) choose how often you’d like the conference to occur.

11) Further options will pop up. You may set the conference to reoccur a set number of times, until a specific date, every weekday, or every couple of days. This is very flexible. Once you are happy with the reoccurrence settings select ‘OK’ at the bottom of the popup window.

13) Next, set the ‘site of origin’. This is the node which will control the conference. In the picture below, it is set to Bullhead, ITV-1.

14)Next, select the ‘MCU Settings’ tab. Under this tab there are several more settings.

15)First, ensure that the layout selected matches that which the conference planner or instructor has requested. The most common setting for ITV-2 classes is ‘3+1 Split Left’. For ITV-1 classes use ‘Full Screen’. For ITV-1 meetings use ‘Conference Picture Mode’.

Leave ‘Multicast Streaming Enabled’ and ‘Conference SIP registration’ both

set to ‘Off’ 16) To the right you’ll see ‘Visibility’, ‘Unicast Streaming Enabled’, and ‘Allow chair control’. These are all left at their defaults. Do not change them. 17) Further to the right are ‘Dual Video Stream’, and ‘Register With Gatekeeper’. Change the Gatekeeper setting to a value of ‘Off’. See picture below.

18) Once you have completed these steps, save the conference by clicking the ‘Save Conference’ button at the bottom left of the window.
