Using Technology in the Classroom through Student Performance Indicators By: Marly Barth

+ 2. CREATE ORIGINAL ANIMATIONS OR VIDEOS DOCUMENTING SCHOOL, COMMUNITY, OR LOCAL EVENTS. (1,2,6) I

think it would be a good idea to have the students make videos of a current event going on in the community.

 Another

idea could be have the students get into groups and reenact a situation going on at school or in the community.

+ 3. GATHER DATA, EXAMINE PATTERNS, AND APPLY INFORMATION FOR DECISION MAKING USING DIGITAL TOOLS AND RESOURCES. (1, 4)  There are many technology sources that can be used to determine patterns and gather data. I think a good way to use technology is to have students use the internet to gather data and make a presentation through PowerPoint or Microsoft Excel to present to the class.

+ 5. EVALUATE DIGITAL RESOURCES TO DETERMINE THE CREDIBILITY OF THE AUTHOR AND PUBLISHER AND THE TIMELINESS AND ACCURACY OF THE CONTENT. (3) I

believe that students should know how to tell if an author is credible. In grades 68 students are beginning to read novels and write research papers so a good activity to do could be an online scavenger hunt. They could look up sources and mark off where they found them as they go.

+ 9. Integrate a variety of file types to create

and illustrate a document or presentation. (1, 6)  In

a math class the students could get together into groups and create a PowerPoint presentation that shows step by step how to do a math problem. Each slide could have a different step and explain how it was accomplished.

 Also

using the PowerPoint they could be taught to use graphics, sounds, hyperlinks, and videos so that the students could be more tech-savvy.
