Upgrade Guide

Install the 3cdaemon first, then run the 3cdaemon.

Change the red circle option to the folder that the firmware located.

Step 1: Login to firewall using the web browser with the IP of the firewall, goto “Configuration”  “Update”  “Config File”. Click on the “Save To File” button to backup the config file.

Step 2: Telnet to the firewall using the firewall’s IP. You can check the branch IP by checking the IP of the user’s PC, such as 192.168.60.100. Then the firewall’s IP should be 192.168.60.1.

If successful the screen will prompt you to key in username and password. The username is “netscreen”, password is “fwvpn2009”

Step 3: Type “Save software from tftp ns5gt.5.4.0r14.0 to flash”

The firewall will automatically copy the firmware to the firewall. After the transfer is done you can type “reset” to reboot the firewall. Click y for the question.
