UNIVERSITIES OF ENGLAND AND UNITED STATES
University's Oxford is the oldest of the world. She was born in 1906. The first unfriend of oxford is the university of Cambridge. Both institution are known with the name “OXBRIDGE”. Oxford is considered superior in theology and humanities. Both universities belong to the Russell Group for their proyects of investigation. When Henry II of England forbade English students attending the University of Paris in the year 1167, Oxford began to grow rapidly.
The University is essentially a federation: composed about forty Halls and Colleges. The departments are for research and learning. Schools are responsible for organizing the tutorial classes for members of pre grade. most schools have a wide variety of teachers and students of all branches of study. The academic year is divided into three periods, each with a duration of eight weeks. Michaelmas is the period from early October until December, Hilary normally runs from January until before Easter, and Trinity extends from after Easter until June.
Admission to college based on academic merit and potential. Individual schools are responsible for admissions to pre grade. The selection of graduate students is handled by the department where they will study each and then a secondary school which is affiliated to the department. Oxford has made great efforts to attract students from public schools, and admission to Oxford and Cambridge is still based on academic merit and potential. About half of Oxford students come from public schools.
