1.2 Installing UniSim Design The following steps describe how to install UniSim Design R350. 1. Shut down all other programs on your computer before starting the UniSim Design installation process. 2. Insert the UniSim Design CD into the CD drive of your computer. If your computer has the CD-ROM Autorun feature enabled, the CD-Browser should start and you can skip to step 5. 3. From the Start menu, select Run 4. In the Run view, type D:\setup.exe and click the OK button. (If your CD-ROM uses a different drive letter, use the corresponding drive letter.) 5. In the CD-Browser, click on the Install Products button. 6. On the Products view, select Install UniSim Design. 7. Once the installer starts, it may need to install or update the .NET Framework on your computer. If so, a reboot may be required. The installer should automatically restart after this reboot. 8. Enter your name and company name. 9. Select the destination folder. 10. Under Setup Type, you can select either Complete or Custom installations. Under Custom you may select or deselect the desired sub-features. 11. At the end of the installation you may run the HLM Configuration Wizard by selecting its checkbox. With this tool you can tell UniSim Design whether you will be working with a standalone license file or connecting with a license server on your network. For standalone licensing it is necessary to know your Client Key. For network licensing it is necessary to know the network name or IP address of one or more HLM network license servers. Note that the HLM Configuration tool can be launched at any time from a Start Menu shortcut. 12. If a stand-alone license file is needed, this request can be automatically emailed to
[email protected] by selecting the ‘Submit License Request’ button in the HLM Configuration Wizard. A license file will be generated and 1-3

emailed back to you. Double-click this license file to install the license. If no email access is available, use ‘Create Deferred License Request’ button and follow the instructions given. 13. UniSim Design is now installed and ready for use.
1.3 Installing the Honeywell License Manager (HLM) Server The HLM Server must be installed on the machine that is to function as the license server. If you will be using UniSim Design with a stand-alone (node locked) license, you do not need to install the HLM Server. Note that the HLM Server does not require a dedicated serverclass computer. It can be installed on any workstation connected to the network. To install the HLM Server, select “HLM Server” from the “Install Products” view in the CD-Browser. There is nothing to configure during the installation; simply accept the defaults offered by the install wizard. To obtain a license file for the server you must have a Client Key and select ‘Submit License Request’ or ‘Create Deferred License Request’ as with a standalone installation of UniSim Design.
