Blog Header: Using Only Microsoft Words 2007 and Paint. 1. 2.
3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
All of us must definitely know about this program right. First one is used for typing documents while for the second one is for us scribbling some ‘art’. Must be familiar right? I do realize that there are quite a number out there have no idea to make use of the Adobe Photoshop for creating blog header. Even for me, I found out it is really complicated and complex…hehehee. I also have also face the same problem when I use free software such as GIMP 2 (GNU Image Manipulation Program)..still same old story (n_n) So, I have bumped into one idea. I will use the program that I am expert with – the Microsoft Word and Paint. Actually, I made my blog logo and header above through this method. What I can say is the result is quite impressive. This method is restricted for 2D approach only –not 3D (still possible to make a very minimal 3D effect. I will show later on.) I will show the step of how I make my header in writings and picture. Please keep in mind that I use the Microsoft Words 2007 First, use the Microsoft Words.
8. This is how I made the Round logo.
The component are:
A circle ( Black outline with Blue Fill), 2 Straight Lines ( I have changed the white colour to black ) and 2 Arc Lines (I have changed the white colour to black) You can found all of this in the Insert toolbar under Shapes Then after make same modifications and alterations, I get this H logo (n_n)
9. For the whole header :
The components are:
I use Text Box to write the ELMI ASYRAF under Steiner font+ with no colour FILL and OUTLINE. Then, the rounded corner box, I still use the Text Box with Blue FILL and Black OUTLINE. You can make the rouded corner by: 1- Make a text box. 2- Then, click at the text box. One new toolbar – Format will come out the right hand side. Click CHANGE SHAPE and select the rounded corner box. 3- Now, you will get rounded corner text box (n_n) I make the box slightly bigger than the ELMI ASYRAF com box. So, I can give a bit of variety on the header.
To make the .com box under my name, you have to click right hand side at the .com box. Then go to ORDER and click Send To Back. After all of that, arrange everything properly. To make things easier, for the logo components ( line and shape) and entire header components ( logo, blue and name text box) should be grouped together. Just need to press CTRL and Left Click to components that you want to group together. After selecting them…
Right hand click, go to grouping and click group. That’s all… Finally, you will get this:
But this is still in word document, not a picture document. To convert it to picture document I will use Paint.
This step is easy. On your keyboard, at the upper corner of your right hand side, there is in two lines – PrtSC/SysRQ. Just press the button when you still have your header on the computer screen. Basically, you are going to copy the whole picture of the screen. Please make sure that u do not select you image when you copy, if not this will happen….There is blue and green dot.
It should be like this….
Then, open your Paint.
Then click either the Star or Rectangles located on the top of the editing toolbar. Go to the blank ‘drawing block’, right click and click paste. This will come out… Please make sure that u do not select you image when you copy; if not this will happen….There is blue and green dot.
It should be like this….
If the header exceeds the screen size, try to make it smaller. Go to the Image, click Strecth/Skew. For me, in the stretch column, I put 80% for both Horizontal and Vertical. You can also zoom down your page down when it is still in Words – before you press the PrSc button.
Then, use the rectangle tool just now and select the only part of header that you want to use….
After that right click and click copy. Then, open new Paint document. Right click and select paste. You will get this
Move your cursor to the grey area and click it. After that, at each corner of the white drawing block there is blue dot. It can be used to resize the drawing block to your intended size.
That’s all. You can save your image now.
Click Save As… I usually the JPEG type for pictures as the file size is smaller and no obvious change in quality. This is my header image….
If you want to add minimal 3D effect, use the IMAGE file and add picture to Microsoft Word.
Go to Format just like above. Click picture effects. After I have modified and altered it, I can get this result….
You can also change the picture shape. Use the method of changing text box shape before. The other steps on Paint, same as before… If you have any problem, suggestion or even opinion, let’s discuss and share them in the comment column below ok? By the way, what you need in designing only a bit of creativity and effort (n_n)
