Go to www.turnitin.com via the Internet Click New User Click on Create User Profile under New Instructors Start Here Select Instructor in Create a New Account Enter the following information: a. Class ID: Enter the GBN Turnitin Account ID and password (provided by Technology Trainer) b. User Information: Enter your user information (first name, last name, and GBN email address) and click c. Password and Security: Enter your password and answer the security question 6. Click I agree – create profile to complete the account set up process and then click Log in to Turnitin. 7. Upon logging in, you may be required to do a systems check. Click Continue to the Dashboard once this process has completed
Turnitin Class Setup 1. Click Add a Class and enter the following information: a. Class Name b. Enrollment Password (It is recommended that you make the password your last name with all lowercase letters) c. Optional: Class end date (Students will no longer be able to access this class after the class end date) 2. Click Submit 3. Write down the Class ID provided and the password. This is the information you will need to provide to your students so that they can access your class 4. Repeat this process to add additional classes
Creating a Turnitin Assignment 1. Click on the class in which you would like to add an assignment 2. Click New Assignment in the bottom right corner 3. Enter information for that assignment a. Due dates are the date and time for which the assignment is due. Assignments are time stamped. To not allow late submissions, click on More Options b. More options will give you additional options to set for that assignment including how to generate reports and view assignment information 4. Click Submit 5. Next to the assignment, click on the Inbox folder to view student assignments.
