How to hide the drives(C: D: E: etc) in your computer This is a great trick you can play on your friends. To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer. 1) Go to start->run. Type regedit.Now go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version \Policies\Explorer 2) Now in the right pane 3) creates a new DWORD item and names it No Drives (it is case sensitive). 4) Now modify its value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal). Now restart your Computer. So, now when you click on My Computer, no drives will be shown (all gone...). To enable display of drives in My Computer, simply delete this DWORD item that you created. Again restart your Computer. You can now see all the drives again. How to boost the PC faster than it is now A great new feature in Microsoft Windows XP is the ability to do boot defragmenters. This places all boot files next to each other on the disk to allow for faster booting. On clicking it a new Window appears with a blank space saying "Type the location of items". In this space write "shutdown.exe -s -t 5" or "%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 5" Now the -s stands for shutdown and -t denotes the time in seconds to wait before windows shutdown. Then click next and give a name as shutdown and click Finish. To apply icons to it simply Right click it and Properties and then Change Icons. For Restart

simply change -s with -r like this way "%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -r -t 10" or "shutdown.exe -r -t 10".
