Flow Totalization when using Instantaneous Flow Meter Input 1. Only Precision Inputs 11 or 12 can be configured to totalize a flow by using an instantaneous flow input (such a as flow meter). 2. Configure the Input as shown below by using the Linear Equation scaling option. a. Solve for the slope (m) and intercept (b) by using two known points along the line as described in the technical note “Scaling a Linear Sensor.pdf.” the example below shows 1.0 and 0.0. These values will vary in your application depending on your flow device. b. Check the Totalize box and enter the corresponding values in both of the unit spaces c. Click Apply

The Status screen will then display as shown below. Minimum, Maximum, and total daily flow will be calculated and logged at midnight each day.
