Atheneum School Thursday Bulletin February 26, 2009 Announcements and Reminders:



Auction and Student Recital Success: Our 2009 event was successful in raising just under $15,0000.00! This includes $5000 raised by Heather and Doug Johnson for the Scholarship Fund. We are grateful to everyone who helped this year’s efforts with donations and by attending the event. The Atheneum community is particularly grateful to the following parents and students: Kathy Burgoyne, Diana Jensen, Gail Johnson, Laura Erickson, June Takagi, Judy Green & Paul Seibel, Kurt Echols, Bernadine Strange, Christie DeMolina, Ruth & Brad Spees, Suzanne Tryck, Heather & Doug Johnson, Ali Bowles, Gin Hiang and Austin Johnson!



Senior Class Calendar: The tenth class of Atheneum seniors has been gearing up for the events ahead. Attached is the detailed schedule that has been distributed to seniors. This includes senior assignments and due dates. The dates that pertain to the whole community are as follow: 1. Friday, May 1, 2009: All School Prom: We need parents to help plan this event. Please contact Lydia. 2. Friday, May 15, 2009 12:10pm-2:30pm: Senior Oral Exams and Visual Essay Presentation. 3. Tuesday, May 19, 2009: Senior Graduation (details will be announced) 4. Wednesday, May 20, 2009: Talent Show and End of the Year Picnic. We need parents to help organize this event. Please contact Lydia.



Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences, Friday Feb. 27: There is no regular school. Conferences are optional for seniors. Students must attend conferences with their parents. Please sign up. A schedule is posted on the office door. On Friday, March 6, there will be conferences (if necessary) in the morning only. Regular school will be in session.



The State Audit of Student Records was completed last week. Parents have been notified if their students are lacking an immunization. Thanks to those who have responded right away. The deadline for compliance is Friday, March 6. This means that we need to have a document from the health care provided that states the date the immunization was given. Thanks for your help..

 

Spring Break March 9-13: School is not in session. Iceland Trip Dates are confirmed: March 15-March 28. The group travel itinerary is be prepared by our travel agent and is forthcoming!. Spring Intensives March 16-27: Intensive registration will be available tomorrow at the conferences. They will also be emailed to the community. Long Weekend April 16-17

 
