Mini Conference a Make Condition event

‘WHAT DESIGN MEANS TO US IN TIMES OF ECONOMIC CRISIS & GLOBAL WARMING’ is a mini conference series for like minded people, agents of change, and designers to gather and celebrate points of view that impacts communities, society, industry and the world. Date: Saturday, 8th of August 2009 Time: 9.00 am to 1.00 pm Venue: Conference Room, National Art Gallery Fee: RM30 for students; RM100 for professionals Open to all students and professionals.

Ian Davies

Ian Howard Davies is Managing Director of ArcRadius Consulting Sdn Bhd, an interior design consultancy based in Kuala Lumpur, delivering solutions to clients through interior design, architecture, graphics, event management, change management and training programmes that improve bottom line performance. He has taught in the Royal College of Art in London for 15 years and is appointed to be a board member of the Malaysia Design Council by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Muid Latif

Muid Latif is a well known New Media Designer that has been making names locally and internationally. A graduate in Bachelor of Fine Arts, Sculpture in UiTM, he then chose to pursue Multimedia & Interactive Advertising for the past 8 years with previously working with local and international brands. Clients ranging from PETRONAS Philharmonic Orchestra to Saladin, the animation movie, he has garnered accolades to prove that it does not take what you do for a living to reflect what you study.

Fariz is a Creative Director and Co-Founder of Motiofixo! – A creative studio that does graphics design: motion, prints and image brandings. He is also a co-founder of a streetwear tee design collective called Bangkit. He specialises in motion design and has worked with local agencies for various TV Commercials, Promos and music videos. Currently he’s focusing on experimental works involving the technique visual mapping for installations, displays and visual performances.

Matthias Gelber

Matthias Gelber is a global environmental speaker and entrepreneur. He is a board member of the International Network of Environmental Management, a non-profit organisation working with businesses internationally to inspire them to make their operations more environmentally friendly. Matthias has given environmental talks in 38 countries all over the world and has successfully started and sold an environmental consulting and training company during the time when he lived in the UK.
