Executive Summary 1. Statement of the Purpose Data General Headed by Tom West at Westborough, Massachusetts, USA collaborated a Team of enthusiastic Engineers to work on their own supermini, which had it nicknamed “EAGLE”. The team aimed to complete the machine in a year expecting to the second billion and that would rise Data General in the fortune 500. 2. Statement of the Problem In completing their EAGLE, at the time scheduled, the team have to struggle for the resources to build it. Resources meant, among other things, the active cooperation of such so-called support groups as software. The leaders should persuade the support groups that their idea would get out in the door and be realized. 3. Alternative Courses of Action •Sustain the tacit motivation by the team leaders as being done in signing up, since it would boast and inspire them to work hard for the accomplishment of the eagle. •Provide a more realistic outline for the new recruits. •Install to them the basic rationale of their projects and how it affects their lives and to the company itself. •Acquire necessary equipment and physical resources needed for the completing and realization of the EAGLE project. • 4. Methods of Analysis The methods of analysis used are SWOT Analysis and the Porter’s Five model of Industry’s attractiveness 5. Recommendation I recommend the the company should continue exert all of their best effort to motivate their team so that work to be done will be realize. They should formulate as much as possible positive insight for the team because it is very essential as the best tool in encouraging their team. 6. Business Policies The company has provide essential information to their employees/staff about the ongoing projects. They played in team with respective leaders and different jobs to perform. Some employee feel that they were being trusted on the projects since they handle important part in the operation. Labor is no longer coerced. Labor is volunteered.

Having good strengths and manageable threats would not insure the team that any contigency problem would be solved, any unplaced misfortune would be avoided. It is very significant to build advantage from the strengths that the company have.

Any threats presented would be an essential elements to look into so that the company would formulate any points to avoid certain decisions.

New entrants in the industry would be a problem to the Data General since it would prejudice their plans and the effectivety of the project. However, any new entrants would create no much harm to the project. THE BARGAINING POWER OF THE CUSTOMERS Consumers have all the rights to select the best product they dream to have. They have the power to influence producer of the products. In this project all the necessary elements that the customer would like the product is very high since combine knowledge were put in one. THE BARGAINING POWER OF THE SUPPLIERS Suppliers would be an important factors that affect the Project into reality because without the suppliers to supply their equipment the project would not be complete. Even so, the bargaining power of the suppliers would not in effect include as a problem for the company THE INTENSITY OF THE RIVALRY AMONG FIRMS WITHIN THE INDUSTRY In this computer industry competing firms constantly presented their market new product to bargain for the general public. IBM, DELL, and other firms in its industry continue their research and development since it would boast their firms asset as a result of their research. In this case, intensity in the rivalry among firms in the industry is very close. They have to figure out how they position their products in the market because it serves as an invisible hand that help them capture valued customers. THE POTENTIAL FOR SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES Substitute products are always been the threat in every industry. In this computer industry, substitute products is always been the threats since new products would come out every now and then which sometimes makes your own products on its obsolescence.
