Marketing Plan

• Market research - How? • We made research and hired an agency for collecting relevant information related to our market and our venture interests. • The primary data collection: it can be ranged from the making of questionnaire and survey in the locality. • The secondary data: the 09/05/09

The revealer corp

12

Contd: • Cities surveyed: Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. • Target group: youths, working class men, working women, house wives, etc. • Reasons why we ventured into this business? • The hectic working style of today’s youths, men, working women, students, etc. • The terrifying news in the newspapers of the metros, the people is really terrified by the word “terror”. Media f our country just ads “masala” to every news whether it is related to any of the event and people get bored of this things. When a boy named “prince” fell into the bore well, the news became more popular than the any national news; it was the effect of our 09/05/09 The revealer corp own MEDIA. 13

• Facts about our industry: • What is the total size of our market? • The industry into which we are catering has many dimensions; it has been organized into many sub units like the business news industry, general news category, the research news category, the student category, etc. • But there is no one into what we are venturing though there are some facts like each newspaper has some of the 09/05/09

USP: Our USP has risen from the need of the society i.e. people want to get away from the general things and want something very unique and happening, so this opportunity has become the USP of our products 09/05/09

What percent share of the market will we have? No company ventures with an intension to directly take over any industry but gradually seeing the current prospects tries to become a market leader. We don’t think that we can compete centuries old newspapers like TOI, The Hindu, etc but the other fact is that we are not the same as they are. In the early stages we want just a nominal share in the industry. As we are starting in the metros only we hope we can start in a pretty good way as there are more demand of the “stuff” which we can supply. Current demand in target market: Eyeing the survey report, we can say that there is a grave need of our material in the market. As the market has not been segmented in a our way, so we can’t exactly estimate the demand but the 09/05/09 lining is that if we Thecome revealer corp silver into the business now 16

Trends in target • Growth trends: it is an infant if see our target market, we know that we are the new entrant but as per the industry in considered, it is also new as per our segmentation of the market. • Trends in consumer preferences: now this is what has given a way to our business, the trend among the customer is that they are fed up with these “boring” things as they call. So the trend is the need or our product. • The trends in product development: the trends in the product development ranges from the early design of the product to its segmentation and the change in the product 09/05/09

• Our product is basically meant for the people of middle class to high class. Our product categorization of the various factors is done like this: • Age: we will be catering to the age group above 15 years as our issue will contain a sense related to the general news. • Gender: Our product is for both the genders and we don’t segregate our product as per gender. If everything runs well then we will be seeing our major market share in the housewives also. • Location: the demand of the time is that we should cater to the metros in the initial stage and later we will extend to the smaller towns and cities also. We are now starting in the cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore only as we want to start with high Hindi speaking people as 09/05/09 The revealer corp 18 we will start with national news and news on

Contd:

• Income level: We are in the plan to start at that price that an ordinary man who buys a newspaper can switch from it and twin to our “comic” for a change. Thus our pricing would range from Rs5 to Rs 10, depending upon the place of sales. • Social class and occupation: This is not a matter of so much concern as we are catering to all the class of population, ranging from youth to working class to housewives. • Education: This factor is of concern as only educated men and that with a sense of humor then only we will be able to sell our product. So eyeing this factor we have 09/05/09

• Actually there is no company which is in direct competition with our company as no one launches “comic magazine” the way we are planning to do. The only thing we will have to do is to distinguish our product from the main category and to make people believe that we are different. • List our major competitors: • Times of India • The Hindu • Deccan Herald • India today • The Outlook, etc

• Our company into the world, our product with its unique appeal can fit into the minds and heart of people if positioned well. Niche of our product could be youths or working men or housewives. Now as per our product segmentation, we think we will be doing well initially in the metros .The age group can vary from place to place but early we are banking upon the youths and the working class. So on the nutshell of the niche marketing we have 09/05/09

The revealer corp

22

• The first thing we need to do is to make people believe that our company is entirely different from the general industry and we are not the general news maker or the magazine maker. • We will be changing our product in accordance with the needs and desires of the people. Suppose that now people are fed up with the word “terror” but time can come when they will need something else, so we will have to change. • So “change” as Mr. Barack Obama will

• How will we get the word out to customers? • We will be using the same channel to reach our customer as the newspaper reaches there. We will be supplying our goods for free for some time like for around a week and this will follow in all the parts on time basis .we will use the local hawkers and we are in talk with them to sell and distribute our product. We will be selling our product with the largely accepted brands like • Advertising: What media, why, and how often? Why this mix and not some other? • We are going to use both the print media and emedia for advertising our products. We have signed a deal with the local cable suppliers to advertise our product for a very minimal cost and in the print media we are deals with the various magazines and newspapers which don’t feel that we are a competitor to them. 09/05/09 The revealer corp 24 • Some of the magazines makers which have

• How much will we spend on the items listed above? • As we are venturing for the first time then we have decided to invest heavily on building the relationship with customers by the means of advertisement. So we are investing initially for Rs 60lacs on advertising. • For hawkers –Rs 10 lacs and it will be as per sales statistics they produce. • For advertising on T.V.—Rs 20 lacs, as we will be giving our ads on the local 09/05/09

• As we are new and are a small firm, so our pricing will be average not the lowest and not even above the average prices. We know the range in which we are competing that’s why we are pricing our product as per the market price. • Our initial prices are as follows: • Kolkata –Rs 15 • Mumbai – Rs 20 • Delhi -Rs 15 • Bangalore - Rs 20 • Now why is that variation in the pricing of the product across regions? • As we have mentioned that we will follow the pricing strategy of the respective towns and cities, so we are following the same strategy. In KOLKATA, average prices of the products in this category are very less, so we have to adapt to this price to survive there. Bangalore is still the price king for this product so we 26 09/05/09 The revealer corp

• How do you sell our products? • Retail: we are in deals with the major magazine sellers houses in the cities for selling our product and rather we will be retailing our products through the local stalls and book stores also. • Direct (mail order, Web, catalog): we have that facility also and we will take orders online and we will transport magazines through the same channel which we use to sell to our local customers. • Wholesale: we have that facility also as we see popular products being sold into 09/05/09
