Choose four factors that have been discussed in class that influence your identity and write a reflective essay exploring the theme “What made me the person that I am.” Ideas for your essay should come from related readings used in class, or other materials that you have found on this particular subject. Essay should be 1000-1200 words typed (doubled spaced, font size12, font type Times New Roman) Assignment 2: Due Nov. 25, 2009 JOURNAL 10% Students will keep a reflective journal of ten entries that documents their ongoing analysis of themselves and their roles as emergent teachers. The journal should reflect: •
Evidence of reflections on your progress as an emergent teacher

Evidence of how you have internalized class discussions and the action taken to improve
Assignment 3: Due Nov. 25, 2009 PORTFOLIO 50% Your portfolio is a collaborative task to be done in groups of 5-6 students. It is cognizant that you give the correct interpretation to the task as this will impact on your grades. The content of your portfolio should be: •
A portfolio or short biography of each student within the group (individual effort 4 pts)

A rationale for doing the portfolio (grp effort 2 pts)
•
Your group name and its significance (grp effort 1 pt)
•
Your aspiration on becoming a professional teacher (individual effort 6 pts)
Choose a theme from any of the three units examined in class, and write a two (2) pages evaluation of how this theme influences you in having a better understanding of yourself (individual effort 12pts) Select 3 artifacts that reflect 3 diff. themes, one from each unit •
