September 9, 2018 To Whom This Concerns, I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Emily Trujillo in support of her application for student teaching. I first got to know Emily when she was a student in my third-grade classroom at Lafayette Elementary. She reached out to me during the 201516 school year with a request to spend time in my classroom observing and helping me with students. Emily is extremely mature for her age, and she gives the impression of someone who is much older and more experienced. I was very impressed with Emily each time she worked with my students. She has a natural ability to connect with young people, and her instincts are excellent. Emily has a quiet, calm presence that is reassuring to students. Whether working 1:1 or in a small group, Emily was always patient and helpful. Students were excited to see Emily each day that she was in the classroom. She showed them respect and was warm and nurturing. Emily was also very helpful to me. She was willing to assist me with organizing materials in the classroom and could perform any task competently and efficiently. Emily spent additional time with me when she was finished with her spring semester at CSU. I so appreciated all of her help with the many responsibilities that the end of the school year demands. I feel that Emily will be an excellent educator in the future. The teaching profession needs young people who have the passion and dedication that Emily possesses. I wholeheartedly recommend Emily as a student teacher during the spring 2019 semester. Sincerely, Terri R. Mulford President, BVEA 303-444-4486 (office) 720-201-1191 (cell)
