No. A/7-227/STR/WII/2006 TENDER NOTICE FOR PURCHAE OF STORAGE AREA NETWORK SYSTEM Sealed tenders are invited under two bid system for the purchase of Storage Area Network System. The tender document (containing technical specifications, terms and conditions, amount of EMD etc.) can be obtained from the Cashier on payment of Rs.2000/- through Demand Draft in favour of Director, Wildlife Institute of India payable at Dehradun upto 28th June 2006, or tender document may be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.wii.gov.in. In case the tender document is downloaded from the Institute’s website, the cost of Tender document i.e. Rs.2000/- (non-refundable) should be enclosed with the Technical Bids in form of Demand Draft payable to Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, failing which tender shall not be considered by the Institute. The Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, reserves the right to reject any or all tenders without assigning any reasons. A minimum of 5 servers and 15 workstations on various operating system viz. MS Windows, Linux has to be installed/configured to this IP SAN by the vendor.

Annexure - II TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. The tender is to be submitted in two parts viz. ‘Technical bid’ and ‘Commercial bid’ in two separate sealed envelopes and should accordingly be superscribed “Tender document for Storage Area Network System 20062007”. The commercial bid will be opened only after the scrutiny of technical bid has been done and a shortlisting of technically acceptable bids has been made. 2. The tender document (containing technical specifications, terms and conditions, amount of EMD etc.) can be obtained from the Cashier on payment of Rs.2000/- through Demand Draft in favour of Director, Wildlife Institute of India payable at Dehradun upto 28th June 2006, or tender document may be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.wii.gov.in. In case the tender document is downloaded from the Institute’s website, the cost of Tender document i.e. Rs.2000/- (non-refundable) should be enclosed with the Technical Bids in form of Demand Draft payable to Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, failing which tender shall not be considered by the Institute. 3. The technical and commercial bids shall be submitted to the Administrative Officer, Wildlife Institute of India, P.O. Box No. 18, Chandrabani, Dehradun – 248 001 latest by 1500 hrs on 30th June, 2006. 4. The tenderer should be an authorized dealers/reseller of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and a certificate to this effect should be enclosed with the technical bid. 5. The above mentioned items are against Custom Duty and Central Excise Duty Exemption. The rate should be quoted for all the above items in Indian Rupees or in any International currency for imported items. The Institute would provide Custom Duty Exemption Certificate and all other necessary documents for custom clearance for the imported items. The Institute would also provide Central Excise Duty Exemption Certificate and all other necessary documents for indigenously manufactured items for availing Central Excise Duty exemption. The rates should be quoted inclusive of custom duty/excise duty (as applicable) and without custom duty/excise duty separately. 6. The rates should be quoted in Indian rupees. Only unit prices are to be quoted both in digits and in words. In case of a discrepancy in the two, that quoted in words will be taken as valid. 7. The rates should be inclusive of all taxes, duties, levies, freight, insurance, forwarding and installation for FOR, WII. Rates are to be strictly quoted in tender document only else it will be considered as invalid. Rates for additional/optional features should be quoted on blank sheets provided in the tender document itself.

8. Based on the evaluation of the technical bid submitted by the tenderer the WII would shortlist them. The shortlisted tenderers may be asked to make a presentation at WII after opening of the technical bid. 9. Detailed specifications, catalogue/literature of all the items quoted should be supplied with the technical bid. 10. The items should be supplied with interface and power cables. 11. The items should be with onsite comprehensive warranty for minimum period of 12 months for all parts after satisfactory installation. The supplier should maintain and repair the system during the warranty period free of cost. 12. 90% payment of the cost of equipment will be made on receipt, acceptance and satisfactory installation of new equipments and balance 10% payment will be released against bank guarantee of the same amount for the period of the warranty to cover the warranty obligations. 13. For the delayed supplies, liquidated damages @ 0.5% per week on entire cost of the order will be levied from the bill to the maximum of 5% after which the order will remain cancelled. 14. The quantities included in the tender can be increased or decreased at the discretion of the Director, WII, Dehra Dun and should be supplied within six weeks from date of issue of purchase order. 15. Each tenderer should clearly specify that the tenderer agrees to abide by the conditions of this tender document on their printed letter head indicating hereon Sales Tax Registration, FAX, Email, Telephone numbers, etc. 16. The tender/quotation should be accompanied with a Bank Draft of Rs. 55,000.00 as Earnest Money Deposit payable to Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. 17. Items offered in the quotation can be re-ordered at the same rate within six months. 18. All pages of the tender document are to be signed and stamped by the tendering firm. 19. Director, WII, Dehra Dun reserves the right to reject or accept any tender/quotation without assigning any reason. 20. Director, WII, Dehra Dun reserves the right to alter/modify any or all conditions of this tender notice.
