"A team is a group of two or more people, organized to work together, to achieve a set of objectives that cannot be achieved effectively by individuals.“

The process of working with a team to clarify its task and how team members can work together to achieve it. A strategy that can help groups to develop into a Real Team is “Team Building”

Challenge of Team Building How do we make a group of people, none of whom would naturally come together as a team, still work effectively as a team?

Methods for Team Building    



Simple social activities - to encourage team members to spend time together Group bonding sessions - company sponsored fun activities to get to know team members (sometimes intending also to inspire creativity) Personal development activities - individual programs given to groups (sometimes physically challenging) Team development activities – group-dynamic games designed to help individuals discover how they approach a problem, how the team works together, and discover better methods Psychological analysis of team roles and training in how to work better together

Diagnosing Team Failure 





When teams fail to perform as expected, an attempt is usually made to pinpoint and blame the people responsible. An ineffective team or team failure may at times be nothing more than just a consequence of the wrong combination of people. However, the answer doesn't always lie in replacing the team but in answering the question, ‘What went wrong with the group as a whole & why?

Conclusion Successful companies have highly motivated employees. It is key for survival in today's competitive business world. Teambuilding allows companies to keep their edge, increase productivity, motivation & enthusiasm, and create a positive and fun work environment leading to success
