Switch off the Server. Let the server be off for minimum of 2 minutes. REMOVE SERVER NAME FROM CITRIX MANGEMENT CONSOLE Remove the SERVER NAME FROM DOMAIN CONTROLLER FDCPATIALA. Switch on the Server. Insert the CD “ Server Guide 6.1.3 Setup and Insttallation Supports e Server X Series & Netfinity Servers” P/N: 01R0527 6) Server will boot from this CD in GUI Mode 7) A Screen with different language option appears. Select English. Click Next 8) Select Keyboard Layout as United States & in Country portion select India 9) Click Next 10) License agreement screen appears. Click on accept the agreement 11) A Welcome window appears. Now make this server a member of costisp domain 2. Deploy antivirus client from fpserver/ or vphome 3. Install microsoft office 4. Install punjabi fonts 5. Install citrix metaframe xp 6. Install citrix ica client 7. After citrix installation – do citrix settings program files> citrix> metaframe xp> citrix connection disable rdp-tcp support, 2nd double click on ica-tcp >advanced > logon --- enabled, disconnection – 1 , idle – 15 security encryption – basic check only run published applications check disable wallpaper shadowing – is enabled:input off:notify off

ADD SERVER TO CITRIX APPLICATION> IN CITRIX MANAGEMENT CONSOLE > GO TO APPLICATION> PROPERTIES > SERVER > add server name from list of AVAILABLE SERVERS 19. APPLY LOAD EVALUATION > GO TO APPLICATION > RIGHT CLICK ON APPLICATION> CLICK LOAD MANAGE APPLICATION> ADD ALL SERVERS TO “CMC” LOAD EVALUATOR

Disabling Double Click On Programs Button 1) Run regedit.exe to open Registry Editor. 2) Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_Classes_Root\folder\shell\open 3). Under it highlight the Command registry key, then click Registry menu, and Export Registry file to command.reg as a backup. 4). Then delete the Command key. 5). close the Registry Editor. After that, if you double click Programs, it will popup error message: "The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel" If it's Windows 2003, it will not popup the error message.

Windows 2000 Server User Creation 1. Goto Active directory Users and Computers. 2. Right click on 'Users' folder and select 'New' -> 'User'. 3. Give the user name to be created and click on next. 4. Give the password, if required. 5. Check the option ' Password never expires'. 6. Click on next and click on finish. 7. Select the user from the users folder and right click and select properties. 8. Select the tab 'Member of'. 9. Click on ADD. 10. From the displayed window, select 'DATAENTRYGroup and click on ok. 11. Click on DATAENTRYGroup option and click the button 'Set primary Group'. 12. Select ‘Domain Users’ option and click on 'Remove'. 13. Click on apply and then ok. 14. Again go to the properties of of the newly created user, and click on the tab, 'Profile'. 15. In 'Profile path' textbox give '\\172.16.1.25\profiles\%username%'. 16. Login to the windows server from the thin client. Security Settings for the created OS User 1. 2.

Explore \\COVIS15\profiles i.e. (172.16.1.25) and select that particular users folder. Right click on the folder and select the ‘Security’ tab. The following message will appear:

Select on the administrators from the above screen and click on the check box ‘Replace owner on subdirectories and objects’ Click on ‘Apply’. The following message will come:

Click on ‘Yes’ The system will copy some files. And the click on ‘OK’. Again go to the properties of that particular user and click on the security tab. Click on ‘Add’ button from the ‘security’ tab properties window. The following screen will appear:

Uncheck the check box ‘Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object’.

Click on the ‘Remove’ button. Select that particular user and give all rights except full control rights from the ‘permissions’ box.

Click on the ‘Advanced’ button and check the checkbox ‘Reset permissions on ………………………………..inheritable permissions’.

Customizing the desktop 1. 2. 3. 4.

Goto \\covis15\profiles and select that users folder. Delete extra programs from user profile (like system tools, Copy ‘Printcfg’ and ‘ICC’ shortcuts in the desktop folder of the main user folder. In the start menu folder, there would be programs folder and in the program folder, we have startup folder, ‘Printcfg’ and ‘ICC’. Startup folder will have no items.

Copy the tnsnames.ora file in the ORACLE_HOME/net80/admin/ Folder. Following are the entries which must have in the tnsnames.ora for COVIS application

Administrator Reference Manual DR RECOVERY OF INTEL SERVER WITH BRIGHTSTOR 1. Insert “CA BOOTABLE CD “ and “system specific floppy “ , screen 1 appears , press Y 2. SCREEN 2 appears , press F6 immediately . 3. after loading files as per screen 3 . 4. after some time , screen 4 appears 5. Insert LSI LOGIC DRIVER FLOPPY AND ADAPTEC FRIVER FLOPPY one by one and load drivers as per screen 5 and screen 6 . 6. Installation will continue as per screen 7 7. Delete All partitions as per screen 8 except the one with 55 MB size and create 1 partition of size 10GB . 8. After formatting the File system , copying of files will continue as per screen 9. 9. after copying of files, system will restart and screen 10 appears. Click Next. 10. As per Screen 11 , Insert the “Machine specific floppy “. 11. System will restart as per screen 12. 12. Click No , Installation will continue as per screen 13. 13. System will restart 2-3 times automatically as per screen 14. 14. click Next on Screen 15. 15. Click Next on SCREEN 16. 16. Click Disaster Recovery as per screen 17. 17. System recovery will start. On 100% completion , remove CD and floppy . Restart the system 18. Recovery complete .
