PROJECTS
Enhancement in efficiency of Solar Cells Technology: Conventional Convex lenses Scope: To increase the efficiency of solar cells by trapping maximum amount of available light and thereby increasing the intensity of light, this in turn increases the photons striking the surface and thereby increases the current output. Increasing Run-length of a Visbreaker Furnance, Essar Oil Ltd, Vadinar, May-June’08 Technology: Changes in Design, Chemicals inhibiting coke formation. Scope: To decrease coke formation, thereby increasing the Run-length of the Visbreaking furnace. Dye Sensitized Solar Cells Technology: Photosynthesis (In Force) Scope: New generation solar cells, In contrast to conventional silicon photovoltaic devices, the dye solar cell converts light energy to electricity on a molecular level, similar to natural photosynthesis. Dust Resistant films for Solar cells Technology: Nano-polymer coating (In Force) Scope: For Countries like India, Dust accumulation on solar cells is a serious problem, which decreases cell’s efficiency, the idea is to develop a economic nano-polymer dust-resistant layer which averts dust build up.

ACADEMIC SEMINARS
Nano-Electro-Mechanical-Systems(NEMS) Scope: NEMS hold promise to improve abilities to measure small displacements and forces at a molecular scale, and are related to nanotechnology and nanomechanics. Nanorobots, Nanocantilevers, Actuators etc. are different examples of NEMS devices. E-waste Management Methods Scope: e-waste is a loose description of surplus, obsolete, broken or discarded electrical or electronic devices, which is very hazardous for environment, their management involves 3R’s viz… Reuse, Reduce & Recycle. Clean Rooms Scope: A cleanroom is an environment, typically used in manufacturing or scientific research, that has a low level of environmental pollutants such as dust, airborne microbes, aerosol particles and chemical vapors. Green Buildings Scope: Green building is the practice of increasing the efficiency with which buildings use resources energy, water, and materials while reducing building impacts on human health and the environment during the building's lifecycle, through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal.
