•DWG= AutoCAD drawing file extension.

GENERAL PLANS All plans shall be drawn in real world coordinates at full scale. This means that the final drawing sheets shall be cut from a full-scale plan file. The name of the plan drawings that get x-referenced to the drawing sheets shall start with "X" and the name of the individual drawing sheets shall start with "A". The last character of the name of the real world plan file should be a zero.

ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL DRA WING & FILE NAMING

QUICK REFERENCE

For example, for a Structural track level plan for the University of Puerto Rico Station, the full-scale plan name would be XAUPIOO.DWG. If 125-scale plan sheets were to be cut from this drawing, there would be a total of four sheets for this station, one for each site. The last character of the name of the drawing sheets should correspond to the site number of the cut area the drawing sheet shows. The name of the drawing sheets would be AUPI 01.DWG, AUPI02.DWG, AUPI03.DWG, and AUP1 04.DWG.

GENERAL TRANSVERSE SECTIONS General transverse sections shall be drawn at full scale. The drawing files shall exist in model space in the full scale drawing file. The file names shall start with "A" and the last character shall start with "I" beginning with the southernmost sections and increase towards the north.

GENERAL LONGITUDINAL SECTIONS General longitudinal sections should be drawn at full scale. Using a full-scale section, drawing sheet should be generated. The name of the full-scale drawings that get x-referenced to the drawing sheets shall start with "X" and the name of the individual drawing sheets shall start with "A". The last character of the name of the real world plan file should be a zero. The last character of the drawing sheets should be sequentially numbered starting at "I" at the southernmost area of the station.

DRAWING NUMBERS Drawing numbers shall correspond to the drawing file names with a dash inserted after the first alphabetic character "A". For example, drawing "A-UP 101 "would be the plot of AutoCAD file AUPI 0 l.DWG.

GRAPmc SYMBOLS (WBLOCKS) Standard graphics symbols have been developed for Tren Urbano drawings and are sho\Vll in Appendix B of the KKZlCMA CAD Management Plan. Electronic blocks for these symbols are filed by discipline as follows: Block name: W AXXAAAA. DWG W=

SUBJECT:

013850 - Rio Piedras Project - Creation of TUSEED.DWG

San Juan, P.R. August 19, 1997

In order to facilitate drawing creation and production, a file called TUSEED.DWG has been created. It is located in N:GENERAL\. When creating new fIles on the Tren Urbano Rio Piedras Project, this me should either be copied to the new fIle name or should be set as the prototype drawing when creating new files using the File- > New command in the AutoCAD menu. Several settings of TUSEED.DWG have been made project specific. Below is a list of features that have been customized in this file: 1. BORDERII.DWG has been attached in Paper space. It has been inserted at point 0,0,0 and at scale 1. 2. KKZ-INF.DWG has been inserted at point 0,0,0 in Paper space. The correct Contract Number has been edited into the border. The remaining infonnation is drawing specific and should be edited as needed. A sample border is included with the CAD Quick Reference guides. 3. Associative dimensioning has been set-up with the project standard settings for various scales. To select a dimension setting, choose Settings- > Dimension Style from the AutoCAD menu. 4. VISRET AIN has been set to < 1 > so that changes to reference me layering displays stays saved when exiting and re-entering a drawing. 5. The text styles have been created named for the LEROY type (ie: L100,L120 ... ) with font ROMANS. See Section 10, Page 10-8 of the KKZ/CMA CADD Management Plan. When placing text, set the proper text height and set the corresponding text style as active.

5.2

DRAWING NUMBERS AND FILE NAMES

A drawing number and file name system has been developed to facilitate locating drawings within a package together with locating drawings within a file directory. The conventions for assigning drawing numbers and file names are similar so that there is a direct correlation between the two to further facilitate drawing location.

Drawing numbers and file names

A drawing number and file name system has been developed to facilitate locating drawings within a drawing package together with locating drawings within a file directory.

A. Drawing Numbers

Drawing numbers shall be assigned as follows:

A-BBXXXC

Where:

A

==

AlphabetiC discipline code

B == AlphabetiC modifier code (where necessary. discussed later in this section) X == Numeric designation (discussed later in this section),

5-1

CADD Standards Section 5 - File Set Up

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

C = Alphabetic designation (where necessary. indicates drawing is one of a series of two or drawings with the same number, or it is an inserted drawing).

Example:

A - RP101A

A

=

RP =

Architecture discipline Drawing related to the Rio Piedras Station

101

=

First drawing in a series of plans

A

Indicates that this drawing is one of two or more plan drawings numbered 101, or it was a late-developed drawing inserted between existing drawings numbered "101" and "102".

B. Drawing File Names Drawing file names are the same as drawing numbers with the exception that there is no hyphen, as follows:

ABBXXXC A B X C

= = = =

Alphabetic discipline designator Alphabetic modifier code (where necessary) Numeric designation Alphabetic designation (where necessary)

Example:

ARP101A would be the filename for the drawing described in the drawing number example mentioned above.

Reference file names are created in the same way, but always starting with "X". Eg XARP101, XARP201, XARP301

CADD Standards

Alphabetic Modifier· Many drawings, but not all, will have an alphabetic modifier following the alphabetic discipline code in order to further distinguish the type of drawing, or its content, within the design discipline. In the example drawing A-RP101A, "RP" was used to distinguish that drawing, together with the others in its series, as a drawing related to the Rio Piedras station. The following are the Tren Urbano stations and the corresponding alphabetic modifier codes that are to be used.

Numeric Designation

The numeric-designation element of the drawing numbers is to be assigned as follows:

100 series numbers are for general plans

200 series numbers are for general sections and elevations 300 series numbers are for details directly referenced in the general plans, sections, and elevations, or for tables, charts, and schedules that contain information directly related to the general plans, sections, elevations and details.

Drawings are to be numbered consecutively within the series.

5.3

EXTERNAL REFERENCES

All drawings must use decimal units.

5-5

CADD Standards Section 5 - File Set Up

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

All external reference drawings (XREF's) shall have an insertion base point of 0,0.0. The scale of the XREF shall be full size.

XREF is the means AutoCAD provides for cross referencing drawing files. XREF files are to be kept independent from the current drawing files so that changes made to the XREF drawing will automatically appear in the current file.

IMPORTANT: When using XREF files, all XREF drawings referenced by a drawing must be included on diskettes when transmitting electronic files.

Along with these files, the

applicable drawing log should also be transmitted, so that the recipients of the diskettes can reconstruct the drawings sent to them.

Nested reference drawings shall not be used.

5.4

DRAWING LOGS AND LISTS

Drawing logs are mandatory and must be continuously kept current. The Design Team Members are responsible for preparing a drawing log sheet for each drawing created, using the form shown in Figure 5-1. The completed forms are to be kept in a notebook. The individual file information sheet will include reference file level turned 'on' or ·of. Project Designers will submit a hardcopy of their file information spreadsheet monthly to Sverdrup.

Project Designers will keep a current electronic file information spreadsheet, along with drawing logs (Figure 5-2). The spreadsheet will be in Microsoft Excel format and will be provided to the Project Designers by Sverdrup. The file information spreadsheet should be a current list of all CADD files, design files and reference files, on the Project Designer's system. The list does not need to include files created by Authority, but should be include Authority's files being used as reference files by the Project DeSigner. The spreadsheet will include drawing numbers, sheet numbers, revision numbers, description, scale, attached reference files, and date of transfer lupdate, if file originated by others.

LAYERING CONVENTIONS AutoCAD layering conventions have been developed for Tren Urbano drawings based on industry standards established by the American Institute of Architects. The American Society of Civil Engineers, and the International Facility Management Association. Following are key features of the Tren Urbano CADD layer conventions: Colors shall be assigned to blocks by layer, except for dimensioning Most symbols are created using two layers-one for graphics and the other for text. When a drawing is WBLOClKed; unused layers, blocks, and linetypes are automatically purged from the drawing. Some drawings may need to be purged more than once. A template will be provided to the Tren Urbano Design Team Members that will include all approved layers . . Unnecessary layers should be purged from drawings in order to conserve memory.

6.2

LAYER LISTS layer lists by discipline are found in Appendix A. The Design Team Members will keep these lists current, and must advise the Authority if new layers need to be added . .layer "MV', color

=0., Linestyle =0., must be used to show the limits of Viewport.

There is more than one viewpoint, use layer MV1, MV2 ... consistently.

PLOTTING 7.1

PLOTTED DRAWINGS

_ All final drawings shall be drawn at full size and have the drawing limits set to the actual size of the final sheet size. This facilitates an unattended batch plotting of a project for submittals. All relative blocks shall be scaled down to fit on the full size drawing. All papers pace mview ports shall be scaled using the ZOOM XP command.

7.2

PEN ASSIGNMENTS

Due to the large quantity of drawings that will be produced for the Rio Piedras project, an HP Design Jet or equivalent electrostatic plotter should be used with an AutoCAD

software package to set pen widths. Whenever possible, use line thickness similar to standard drafting pen millimeter sizes.

The correlation to be followed between pen plotting and electrostatic plotting for use with pen plotting is as follows:

DRAWING GRAPIDCS

10.1

GENERAL

_The use of acceptable industry drafting standards is required to produce clear. complete high quality drawings.

Adequate space between views on a drawing shall be provided to allow dimensions and notes to be added without overlapping or crowding between views.

10.2

STANDARD GRAPHIC SYMBOLS AND ELEMENTS

Standard graphics symbols have been developed for Tren Urbano drawings and are shown in Appendix B.

Electronic blocks for these symbols are filed by discipline as

follows:

N:\TEMP\GEN ERAL\Discipline

Discipline - Project symbol library may be created and must be named as the following:

WARP ..... DWG

W = RELATE to WBLOCK

ABBREVIATIONS AND SYMBOLS

Abbreviations and symbols used on contract drawings shall be identical in size and form to those indicated on the Standard Abbreviations and Symbols Sheets to be included in the contract drawing package.

10-1

CADD Standards Section 10 - Drawing Graphics

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

10.4

LINE WORK

Line work shall be uniform in width and the image clear, crisp and precise. Line work shall be done to assure legibility when the drawings are reduced to half-size. Closely spaced lines shall have a space beween them of at least as great as the line width itself.

The thinnest lines on a drawing are extension, center, leader, dimension, long break and sectioning lines. Medium lines are used for hidden datum and phantom lines.

Heavy

lines indicate such items as the visible edge of a new object. The thickest lines are the short break, match lines and cutting or viewing plane lines.

The weights or thicknesses of all lines shall be drawn so that each weight is easily distinguished, refer to Subsection 7.3.

10.5

SCREENING OF EXISTING CONDITIONS

Details of the background work shall be omitted unless required for reference or other essential purpose. Building columns and equipment deSignations shall be given where required. Outlines of structures and buildings shall be subordinated in plant design and electrical layouts.

Details of structural steel shall not be shown on mechanical or

electrical drawings unless required for plant design or electrical reference.

Where existing conditions on project drawings are to be distingUishable from proposed work, the existing conditions shall be shown in contrast by a 40 percent screening process or by a specified line weight and/or form.

10.6

MATCH LINES

When a complete plan or elevation cannot be shown on anyone drawing. a match line must be used to indicate a continuation to the next sheet. A drawing number at a match line shall be shown to identify the sheet on which the drawing is continued. On civil and utility-line drawings, the match shall also be identified by station as well as drawing

10-2

CADD Standards Section 10 - Drawing Graphics

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997 number.

If a complete plan or elevation is divided to fit on the same sheet, a match line must also be used together with an alpha character identifying the match line.

10.7

NORTH ARROW

The standard north arrow shall be displayed in the upper right-hand corner of plan drawings.

The standard north arrow is a general-purpose graphic element shown in

. Appendix B.

10.8

SCALE

The scale used for a drawing or drawing view shall be selected to ensure the clarity of a print when reduced in size and to allow reasonable space between views.

The scale·

used on a drawing shall be noted in the title block (see Subsection 9.3.J). A graphic scale for each scale used will also be placed on the drawing, generally placed in the lower right hand corner. Standard graphic scales are general-purpose graphic elements shown in Appendix 8.

10.8.1 Drawing Scales

Drawing Scale is the real world scale of the drawing when plotted.

The

Drawing Scale is the ratio of Plotted Units to Drawing Units. When the Drawing Scale is 1 the Plotted Units equal the Drawing Units. The typical scale notation reflects this concept: 100 Final Size equals 1 in Drawing Units.

10.8.2 Linetype Scales Ltscale refers to tinetype scale. Linetypes need to be scaled so the line definition is displayed at the same size, no matter what the plot scale is. Currently the Ltscale is used in the text insertion routines to make text at the right size.

The Ltscale is the total number of Drawing Units per Plotted Unit. DWG SCALE

LEITERING

Lettering requirements for notes, titles and the like, are prescribed in Figure 10-1, and must be adhered to unless otherwise noted in this manual.

All lettering shall be capitalized in

"ROMANS" font. Spacing between lines of lettering shall be no less than 60 percent of the height of the letters (AutoCAD default). The width factor to be used is "1" (AutoCAD default); however, at the drafters' discretion, a width factor of "0.75" is allowed for text of notes on drawings only if space is constrained. To ensure that lettering is legible wht;m reduced by 50 percent, text scale conversion factors prescribed in Figure 10-5 must be adhered to.

Arrows from notes to applicable details shall be drawn to prevent confusion with object or dimension lines.

Text in the vertical plane shall be oriented to read from the right of the

drawing. Lettering shall be originally oriented with drawing borders, with the only exception being screened background lettering on X-referenced basemaps.

The orientation of text is an important consideration and should be consistent throughout the project. Sometimes the orientation of lettering must conform to the orientation of the object being detailed.

The "Direction of Lettering" Figure 10-3 graphically indicates acceptable

practice.

10.10

DIMENSIONS

The following guidelines relate to placement of dimensions on drawings.

A.

Dimensions generally shall be placed outside the object being dimensioned, above the dimension line and inside the extension line.

B.

Dimension texts and baselines should always be parallel to the dimensioned element and between perpendicular limit lines.

'-

104

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

CADD Standards

Section 10 - Drawing Graphics

C. Crossing of dimension lines shall be avoided.

D. Dimensions shall be adequate and clear for field interpretation.

E.

Dimensions of like objects on anyone part of a drawing shall be lined up in chain fashion.

F.

Dimensions shall be placed so that they may read from left to right when the sheet is laying horizontally with title block in the lower right hand corner, or when rotated 90 degrees clockwise.

ALL DIMENSIONS SHOULD BE PLACED IN MODEL SPACE.

Associative Dimensioning for a sample 125 scale dwg is below. Changes to these variables may cause some unexpected results. The following list provides the settings for variables. First set style to dimtxt, font

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

11.

DRAWING FORMAT AND CONTENT 11.1

GENERAL

_Every drawing which is not complete in itself will be adequately cross-referenced. Necessary references to standard details will be noted on the drawings.

A drawing that requires references to other drawings or data shall be adequately cross referenced to other drawings or documents to allow clear interpretation. References to other drawings will be made to the drawing number, not a contract sheet number.

Each dimension and note shall be clear in meaning or reference.

Notes must be

referenced at least one time.

Identification of different views on a drawing shall appear directly under the view.

11.2

PLANS

A plan is a view from above an object or an area in orthographic projection. Every plan shall be arranged on the sheet so that project north is toward the top or right hand side of the sheet, with the exception of alignment plans. Alignment plans should be oriented so that stationing progresses from left to right across the sheet.

As applicable, a plan drawing shall show shapes, sizes, and materials of the object, its relation to the foundation or superstructure, and its elevation with reference to such items as the fixed datum plane,

location of walls,

partitions,

bulkheads,

stanchions,

companionways, openings, columns, stairs, shapes and sizes of roofs, parapet walls, drainage, sky lights, and ventilators. A plan shall specify materials, construction, and the arrangement of structural framing.

The location of equipment or furniture may be

indicated. A plan drawing for utilities may have individual layouts for heating, plumbing, air conditioning, electrical, or other utility systems, Right-of-Way drawings may show proposed track and property lines; existing structures; existing contours and topographic features; existing, proposed, and/or required utility easement; and proposed construction limits.

11·1

CADD Standards

Section 11 - Drawing Format and Content

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

Plat plans shall show property lines, existing structures, required planimetric topographic features, utilities apparent from a field survey, encroachments and easements,

11.3

SECTIONS

Sections and other views shall be arranged to show the work clearly in relation to column lines, floor elevations, existing grades. ROW lines and track center lines. Sections drawn on the same sheet where they are cut are preferred. Sections cut to top are preferred for plan and cut to bottom are preferred for elevation. Sections cut across track lines should look toward ascending stations regardless of direction. Sections shall be taken to show essential details to best advantage. Where several sections appear on the same drawing, they shall be aligned to the same elevation when possible.

Section

call~uts

shall be

designated with letters, omitting "I" and ·0·, and entered in the upper half of the circle in the section reference symbol.

Where possible, sectional views shall be placed on the same drawing with the plan from which they are referenced. Title identification of these sections shall be centered directly under the section.

Where sections appear on the same drawing. a dash shall be entered in the lower half of the circle in the section-reference symbol. Where sections appear on a different drawing, that drawing number shall be shown in the lower half of the circle in the section-reference symbol. On the sheet where the section view appears, the section reference letter shall be entered in the top half of the circle in the section-reference symbol in the title line below the section, and the drawing number on which it appears shall be entered in the lower half of the circle.

The drawing

number from which the section was taken shall

appear to the right of the lower half of the circle and below the title line.

NOTE: A section cut or an elevation should be avoided on a detail or section.

11.4

ELEVATIONS

An elevation drawing depicts vertical projections of buildings or structures. The drawing

11·2

CADD Standards Section 11 - Drawing Fonnat and Content

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997 generally shows configuration,

shapes and sizes of features,

walls,

bulkheads,

compartments, assignments of space, location and arrangement of machinery or fixed equipment. An elevation drawing may indicate materials of construction.

11.5

DETAILS

Detail call-outs shall be designated with numerals which shall be entered in the upper half of the circle in the detail-reference symbol. The drawing number on which the detail is drawn shall appear in the lower half. If the detail is on a different sheet than where it is referenced, the detail number shall be entered in the top half of the circle in the detail reference symbol in the title line below the detail, and the drawing number on which it appears shall be entered in the lower half of the circle. The drawing number from which it is referenced shall appear to the right of the lower half of the circle and below the title line.

The orientation of the detail drawing shall be identical to that of the drawing, such as the plan or elevation, where it is identified.

11.6

NOTES

Notes within the main body of a drawing shall conform to the following guidelines.

A.

General notes shall be grouped together along the right edge above the title block. Notes specific to the drawing on which they are located shall be placed on the drawing below the general notes.

Specific note numbers associated with object

descriptions and leaderlines shall be circled.

B.

When a note is removed from an approved drawing, the note number shall remain in its position and the note area clouded. The note number shall not be used again.

C. Leader lines from object descriptions should touch the object.

11.7

DIMENSIONS

The following guidelines relate to the use of dimensions on drawings.

11-3

CADD Standards

Section 11 - Drawing Format and Content

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

A.

Dimensions shown shall be exact unless specifically noted otherwise.

B.

Dimension and elevation repetitions shall be avoided to reduce chances for error when drawings require revision.

C. Dimensions shall be shown to finite points only, and the points shall be clearly identifiable.

D. Dimensioned features shall be drawn to scale unless specifically noted otherwise.

E.

Dimensions shall be adequate and clear for field interpretation.

F. Horizontal dimensions shall be shown on plan views to the greatest extent practical. Vertical dimensions shall be shown on sections and elevations to the greatest extent practicable.

G. Dimensions shall be expressed in millimeters with the exception of Civil plans.

Dimensions for Civil plans shall be expressed in meters and shall be so designated (e.g. 6.30 m).

11.8

SCALE

The scale used for a drawing or drawing view shall be selected to ensure the clarity of a print when reduced in size and to allow reasonable space between views.

The scale

used on a drawing shall be noted in the title block (see Subsection 9.3.J). A graphic scale for each scale used will also be placed on the drawing. general-purpose graphic elements shown in Appendix B.

DRAWING PROCEDURES 12.1

BACKING UP AND ARCHIVING

_ Making back-up copies of user-created files is an important part of managing the work. I

Back-ups provide insurance against accidental toss of data, e.g., mistakenly erased files or unreadable hard disks.

The procedure for making back-ups in San Juan will be as follows. Remote locations will use a similar system.

A.

Back-up copies of file shall be made no less frequently than once a month.

B.

Back-ups are made using the "copy· command to copy files from the hard drive to diskettes or ZIP DRIVE or CD ROM. Files that are too large to fit on one diskette require use of the "back-up" command, or PKZIP.EXE. If back-ups take more space than 5 diskettes, Design Team Member should submit CD ROM or ZIP disk.

C. Keep at least two back-up copies of each file on diskettes.

Diskettes sometimes

become unreadable, and if the same happens to the hard drive simultaneously, the second diskette will become very important.

D. Identify on each diskette label the file name and complete file path.

CD ROM or ZIP disk containing current files created or modified along with a reproducible hard copy shall be submitted to the Authority per the contract. The compilation on these files will provide Authority with a history of versions and evolution of the project.

12.1.1

Daily Backups

1.

Monday - Thursday Project data only (partial).

2.

Tapes will be recycled every two weeks.

12-1

CADD Standards

Section 12 - Drawing Procedures

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

3. KKZJCMA daily backup tapes will be stored at the local office in a fire resistant storage box. Project Designers with a fire resistant storage box should also store daily backups in this manner.

12.1.2

Weekly Backups

1. Friday all projects and application data (full).

2. Weekly backups tapes will be taken off site overnight and returned the next a.m.

3. Tapes will be recycled every two weeks.

4. Design Team Members will give a weekly backup tape to San Juan, every two weeks for storage at the San Juan office in a fire resistant storage box. Weekly tapes should be submitted to Sverdrup at the Project Designer bi weekly meetings. Project Designer's weekly backup from two weeks prior will be returned at this time for recycling.

12.1.3

Monthly Backup/Archive

1. The last weekly backup of the month will be labeled monthly and saved permanently. A duplicate tape should be made of the monthly backup.

2. One tape will be kept on site, the second tape will be stored offsite. Project Designers will give a monthly backup tape to San Juan for offsite storage at the San Juan office in a fire resistant storage box.

12.1.4

Image Backup I Archive

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

A.

Authority to KKZlCMA

1. When significant changes have been. made by the Authority which will affect· Project Designer's work. the DSN Manager will request updated files from the Authority. These files will then be transferred to the Project Designers.

B.

Design Team Member to Design Team Member

1. The requests for transfer of data will be discussed at Project Designer's bi~weekly meetings. CADD coordinators should inform their Project Design Managers prior to these meetings of requests for transfer of data and progress of their disciplines' files. Files with significant progress should be taken to the meetings for transfer to other disciplines. Project Designers are not to transfer files to other Project Designers.

Updated files will be transferred from the Project Designer to

KKZlCMA. KKZlCMA will then redistribute the updated files to the other Project Designers. At any point in the project all Project Designers will be working with the same set of files. with the exception of their own discipline which will be in progress.

2. File transfer will either be done by use of modems or by CD-ROM. or ZIP DRIVE. 3 1/2" disks will not be used unless less than five disks are required.

3. The amount of information being transferred will determine which process will be most cost effective and expedient.

4. All files transferred will be accompanied by the file transfer form. page 5-7. Files transferred to KKZlCMA should include a copy of the file information spreadsheet and an individual file information sheet for all files transferred. See Figure 2. page 5-6.

5. Electronic file information spreadsheets will note date of last update/transfer and files shared by other Project Designer as references. See Figure 2, page 5-6.

ISSUING DRAWINGS

The Contractor shall submit Progress Design and Final Design drawings to the Authority for review as described in the Special Provisions. The level of design completion shall be indicated on the drawings as prescribed in Section 9. After the Final Design drawings have been conditionally accepted by the Authority. they are to be sealed by the designers of record and issued for construction. At that time the "Package" subdirectory shall be "frozen" and a record CD shall be made. Changes that are necessary after the Final Design drawings have been conditionally accepted by the Authority will be strictly controlled as described in Subsection 12.5 below.

A.

KKZlCMA to Authority 1. All submittals of files will be sent to Authority on ZIP disk or CD ROM. 2. When a few files are requested a 3 1/2" diskette will be used.

12.4

REVISIONS

This section addresses procedures for making changes to Final design drawings after they have been signed and sealed and given conditional acceptance by the Authority. The revised drawings would be reissued as a result of a Change Order, and the changes must be clearly identified.

A.

Access to Drawings

Once it has been determined that changes will be made to a specific drawing. the Contractor will provide a controlled process to release the "frozen" electronic file of the specific drawing to be changed to the designer and drafter responsible for implementing the revision.

B

Identification of Revisions

12·6

CADD Standards Section 12 - Drawing Procedures

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

All revised information must be clearly identified on drawings using "clouds" to indicate what information was changed, and "triangles· to reference the revision. A brief description of the revision will be included in the appropriate location in the drawing title block.

All graphics and text used to identify revisions are to be

implemented on discrete layers found in. the "General" layers in Appendix A and discussed below.

1. Identification on Drawing

The revision number is established when a drawing is reissued as the result of a Change Order. For example, all changes made to drawings reissued the first time would be "Revision 1". Subsequent changes made to those same drawings would be "Revision 2", and so on. If new drawings are issued subsequent to the conditional acceptance of the Final Design, the drawing revision number is zero. Therefore, the revision number always corresponds to the number of revisions made to a specific drawing.

The revision number to be indicated on the drawing where the changes are made, and the number shall be placed on a triangle that is located next to and touching the cloud, or clouds (if information is revised in more than one area of the drawing, a cloud must be drawn around each area with a triangle placed adjacent to it), drawn around the revised infonnation.

When a drawing is reissued more than once, clouds and their adjacent triangles from previous issues will be removed, but the triangle in the revision number block will remain.

2. Identification in Title Block

When a drawing is reissued, the following information must be included in the title block.

A.

The revision number in Block 13, Figure 3, Section 9, must be changed to

12-7

CADD Standards Section 12 - Drawing Procedures

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

the next highest number (refer to Subsection 9.3.1).

B.

A triangle is to be placed in the block at the lower left corner of the drawing title block, Block 18 in Figure 3, Section 9.7. This triangle will have the appropriate revision number inside and next to it, on the right side, will be a number indicating how many revisions there are on that particular drawing.

C.

The revision date is to be entered in Block 19, Figure 3, Section 9.7. The revision date will be the date the drawing is reissued, and shall be expressed as follows:

D.

The revision description is to be entered in Block 20, Figure 3 Section 9.7, using the appropriate text (discussed in Subsection 10.9).

The revision

description will include the Change Order number with which the drawing is issued and a brief description of the changes made to the drawing. For example:

(1) CHANGE ORDER 1, REVISED AS SHOWN

(2) CHANGE ORDER 1, COMPLETE DRAWING REVISED

In Example 1, one or more specific revisions were made to a drawing reissued, and the revisions were indicated by clouds and triangles.

In

Example 2, the revisions to the drawing were extensive enough that identifying the drawing as having been completely revised was warranted.

3. Revision Graphics

All revision graphics and text are to be placed in the proper layers as indicated in the "General" layers list in Appendix A.

Standard symbols have been created for the triangles and are shown in the "General" layers list in Appendix B.

12-8

CADD Standards Section 12 - Drawing Procedures

KKZ / CMA Design Team May 1997

A LISP routine must be developed for drawing clouds around revised information and be used to ensure graphic consistency.

12.5

ACCOUNTING

A.

12.6

Monthly reports will be generated and should be kept in the CADD Quality Notebook.

QUALITY

A.

Project Designers will follow all procedures as outlined in the project procedures manual, and the design quality control procedures.

B.

Project Designers shall be responsible for confirming that design file settings, file naming convention and leveling setup follow guidelines as outlined in the CADD Design Criteria.

C. Pre-submittal checks by KKZlCMA DES Manager will be performed to ensure that files are being setup in accordance with the Drafting Standards Manual and the CADD Plan.

D. Project Designers will submit a test file and test plot file to Sverdrup for plotting in house and by reprographics service to insure the integrity.

E. Project Designer CADD quality control leaders

1. CMA. 2. Sverdrup Civil, Inc. - D.J. Burroughs 3. Jacobs.- Richard Coffing 4. Woodward Clyde.

F.

Project Designer's CADD quality control leader to perform in-house checks monthly. A log of the quality check should include extent of check, problems, action to resolve problem, date and sign off when action completed and files found to be following all CADD standards.

LANDSCAPE SYMBOLS Existing Plant Matenal Trees: Show existing tree canopy spread if mature; otherwise delineate canopy size consistent with relative size of proposed trees. Label caliper size and common name. Show existing plant matenal with small solid circle Signifying center of plant If large quantities of trees or shrubs exist, the center circle may be deleted for clarity.Tree and plant matenal symbols can be found on the following pages. Additional symbols may be found in the architectural section.

App. B-14

proposed plant Material Trees: Show proposed tree canopies at 3/4 size of nominal mature spread. Show proposed trees with a small cross signifying the center of plant Label quantity (if more than one) and full common name. Of more than one size is used on project, show size after name, or signify ''Type A", etc" Showing size in Plant List only. Leader lines should not have an arrow. Connect similar tree types with sweeping curved leader line using pen #00 to differentiate it from base sheet construction data. Specify multi-trunk trees in Plant List Plans should still show Single cross for center. "Multi-trunk" should ~ppear on drawing after the plant name only if necessary to locate it within a single trunk tree of same size and species also exists under same contract

App.8-15

Shrubs: Show shrubs at 3/4 to full size on drawings. Show individual plants of spacing is 600 mm on center or greater. ~how shrubs as simple circles and indicate plant centers with large dots. Other center symbols may be used such as a cross or small open dot Use these other center symbols only when graphic delineation due to adjacency requires it, that is, one kind of shrub next to a different kind of shrub. Label quantity, full common name and on center spacing. Always show spacing with plant label. Do not show spacing in plant list Shrub masses should be touching at maturity; therefore, delineation should indicate the edge of the mass without the interior over1aps of circles as shown. Shrubs with spacing less than 600 mm on center should be delineated as groundcovers.

14 Indian Hawthorm @ 600 Pen #0

Pen #1 Groundcover: Show groundcover using Format (trademark) screen No. 7087. If different groundcovers occur adjacent to each other, use a broken line to distinguish one from the other. Do not use irregular lines to define edge. Allow paving edge or steel edging to serve as limit of groundcover. Label quantity, full common name and on center spacing, Always show spacing with plant label, not in Plant List Grass: Show grass using stippling method with concentration of dots adjacent to material changes as shown. Use a No. pen. Label grass type.
