So if you haven’t heard, I am heading out to work with Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) in Palestine (specifically the West Bank). CPT’s mission involves offering a nonviolent alternative to war and other forms of lethal conflict. CPT is a Christian organization that “believes that faithfulness to what Jesus taught and modeled calls us to more active peacemaking.” In the West Bank, I will be living in a remote Palestinian village called At-Tuwani with a Christian Peacemaker Team. At-Tuwani is located in an area of the West Bank called the South Hebron Hills. The residents of At-Tuwani, especially the schoolchildren, have often been the victims of violence. In addition, At-Tuwani villagers are continually confronted by armed civilians and soldiers who threaten, intimidate, and attack them in order to push them off the land. The residents of At-Tuwani asked CPT to come to the village to provide support, to accompany villagers fearful of violent attack, and to document human rights abuses. My commitment with CPT is for 3 years. I believe this is my calling; it’s how I am living out my beliefs and my passions. It would be a true gift to me if each of you to accompanied me on my peacemaking mission to the West Bank. Traveling with me on this peacemaking mission may look like any of the following:  Prayer. For Peace. For Justice. For the Palestinians and Israelis with which my teammates and I will be working. For Beauty, Goodness, Peace, Justice, Hope, and Love to reign over this world.  Involvement with CPT. Participate in a delegation. See http://www.cpt.org for more information.  Sign-up for project updates. Each team releases periodic updates, reflections, and press releases. Log onto http://mailman.cpt.org/mailman/listinfo/cptnet and sign-up so these releases can be sent to your email inbox.  I ask for your financial support. When all is said and done, it costs $15,000 to fund a peacemaker for one year. If you are able, I ask for a contribution of $25, $50, $100, or more, to participate alongside us in bringing about God’s peace. Please contact me at [email protected] with any comments, questions, or thoughts. I welcome any questions or comments you may have about this work or about the situation in the West Bank. Also, refer to my blog http://samuelnichols.blogspot.com for my own thoughts, reflections, and updates. I hope to update my blog as often as possible, given the lack of internet access in At-Tuwani. Please detach this form and mail your check to Christian Peacemaker Teams:
