Supplementary Learning Activities (Taking Notes from Lectures) 1.
Read the details of the “Thirteen Hints for Taking Effective Classroom Notes” (p. 53-61), “Janet’s Classroom Notes” (p. 63) and “Sample Study Sheet” (p.64).
2. Listen to the two audio files on Moodle and take notes by applying the hints you have learnt in this chapter. 3.
Then answer the questions on pages 74 and 75 (Lecture about Listening) and on page 79 (Lecture on Effective Writing) by referring ONLY to your notes.
4.
Submit the notes you took from any one of the audio files to the lecturer in the tutorial in Week 3.
(You may note down any problems you encountered during the notetaking practice and discuss with the lecturer.)
