SUMMARY OF PAPER PRESENTATION Social Capital is a productive idea build upon trust, cooperation and market agents produce goods and services for a common good. The paper presented for the day had one thing in common “social capital” and how social capital does this help in the creation of human capital with an intention of performing better.

Paper 1: The Network Structure of Social Capital This paper main focus was on “Network models of Range” that is Closure and Brokerage which are an integrated part of social capital and the most important secures of social capital. The paper later also speaks about structural hole between any group in a social network and which provided an opportunity to be discovered and which also provides value according to the author and when this gap is filled this is when a third elements comes in ‘Entrepreneur’.

Paper 2: A Dynamic Theory of Organizational Knowledge Creation The objective of the paper was to explore some basic constructs of the theory of organizational knowledge creation. This paper defines knowledge as “justified true belief”. Any Organisation which wants to create knowledge needs individual, an Organisation supports individual in knowledge creation. This process happens to socialization (tacit to tacit) through brain storming, externalization (tacit to explicit) sharing after brain storming, combination (explicit to explicit) process and internalization (explicit to tacit) through practices and experience.

Paper 3: Social Capital in the Creation of Human Capital This paper focuses on various forms of social capital     

Obligation: bound to do so Expectation: a sense of belief Trustworthiness: truthfulness Information channel: data into information Norms: policies or procedure

The paper also focuses mainly on closure of social network reason being it’s a important form of social capital. Network closure is important element in any Organisation as it holds a key role.
