Stress-strain curve data from a tension test on hotrolled AISI 1095 steel are in the figure. Curve 1 shows the initial part of the data plotted at a sensitive strain scale (lower scale), and curve 2 shows all of the data to fracture (upper scale). The diameter before testing was 9.07mm, and minimum diameter in the necked region, measured from the fittedtogether broken ends of the specimen, was 8.18mmmm.
