A day to remember... We aim to raise money on the day to cover costs by selling raffle tickets and holding stalls. Donations on the day will also be welcome. No money will be taken before the big day itself and there is no set amount expected per house. Proceeds from the day will go into a Post Office account from where the expenses will be paid. Left over funds will go to charity, to be agreed after the party. The night before we will remind people to move their cars. Disabled residents who need their cars please email or call asap to discuss. On the day, we will move cars then thread the bunting between all our top windows. Then you can just come out and set up your tables and chairs. And we’ll take it from there. So if you have any ideas, or anything you know you can help with, email:

[email protected] Or pop by. Shy or v busy? Post your suggestion (see green box)

Do you have a talent you can share? Perhaps you play an instrument, are an artist or cook, or can provide homegrown fruit and veg. We’ll be holding stalls so get harvesting, cooking and making crafts ready for our big day! Maybe you’d like to help organise kids’ activities like face painting, With such busy lives we rarely get games, a pavement art competition, or help man the bouncy castle. a chance to stop and say hello. So sharing an event outside our front We’d like acoustic music on the day. Calling all bands! Or can you juggle doors is right up our street! or unicycle...do you know anyone No cars for the day, no bustle, no who can? hurry. A chance to meet the neighbours, chat, eat, drink and be merry. We are doing a raffle with a £50 top prize. We need other prizes, We had a great first meeting on can you offer something special? Thursday this week, with another one planned same time next week - check lampposts for details. We’re delighted Drayton Rd is coming on board and joining in! We’re going ahead by writing to the council to get the roads closed and sorting out barriers and insurance (max £80 for both streets). No money is being asked for up front. We’re raising money on the day itself to cover costs of insurance We know that we can make this a plus a bouncy castle (£45). We’re day to remember. So email ideas to: inviting people to make their own bunting (to keep costs down) and decided against hiring in [email protected] entertainment.

Face painting is a cheap and cheerful way to keep the kids amused. And we could also do an egg and spoon race, fancy dress and soak the traffic warden (if we can find one).

Houses are welcome to make bunting using the enclosed template for flags and whatever material you’ve got lying around. Get out on the street with a tape measure and measure from your house to the other side, say four or five doors down. Bunting goes diagonally. The more lengths we make, the more windows upstairs we can hang it from on the day! People can invite one or two neighbouring friends, but only from the immediate and surrounding streets please.
