STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE GENERAL LABORATORY USE

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this SOP is to provide instructions for the safe and proper use of computer laboratories. This SOP explains how to prepare the laboratory for use and leave it safely. This SOP covers the proper use of laboratory and equipments as well as the procedures for repairing/servicing and request for pull-outing equipments.

DANGER! electric shock! To prevent electrocution, never remove or by-pass interlocks of equipments.

DANGER! Electrocution potential! To prevent electrocution, no student, other than the laboratory assistants is allowed to un-plug/plug any equipment. No liquefied element inside the laboratory.

CAUTION, flammable. No smoking. No sparks. No flames. If you observe any, leave the area and call the attention of the General Services Officer or Computer Technician

NOTE and CAUTION: Any use of personal peripherals in the laboratory should be permitted and supervised by the Computer Technician.

Students shall not be allowed to enter the laboratory without their respective instructor.

No one shall be allowed to carry/eat/drink any kind of food.

Sit-ins shall not be allowed.

Browsing and/or downloading of pictures and movies from any pornographic sites shall be strictly prohibited.

Playing and downloading of games shall be strictly prohibited.

Bringing of ball pens or any permanent marker and servicing tools shall be strictly prohibited.

Cleanliness, sanitation and energy conservation shall always be observed.

Only the Computer Technician has the authority to attach and detach or transfer any computer peripherals.
