Stabilizer:

AC mains voltage fluctuations can cause equipment to behave erratically and malfunction. Some systems may even breakdown due to these fluctuations. Failure to ensure the incoming mains voltage remains stable can often result in costly equipment repairs. A Stabilizer is known as Voltage Stabilizer Regulation.

Voltage Stabilizers are designed to make sure that, should the incoming mains voltage drift high or low, the output voltage remains constant at all times.

Main parts of stabilizer shown in fig (ii) Working of stabilizer given below

Construction of stabilizer

Transformer:

Transformer as a static electrical device, involving no continuously moving parts, used in electric power systems to transfer power between circuits through the use of electromagnetic induction. In stabilizer we use step-up T/F. Its secondary has some turns for given supply to load according to the required condition. A T/F secondary has four or five turns. One turn is work as 1 to 1 T/F. It means its take input 220V and as it is give at output same voltage like as 220V. More three or four turns used for step-up T/F. when our voltage reduce to the 220V to 195V then T/F work as step-up T/F and give at output voltage 220V. T/F show in fig(iii).

Fig (iii)

When voltage reduce to 150V. Then T/F fourth tapping work for step-up T/F and give output 220V. 02

Relays: Relay circuit shown in fig (iv).

Relay circuit

Fig (iv) Relay is used for protection of our system. In stabilizer we use mostly four relays. The amount of relays is depends on the secondary turns of T/F. Amount of secondary turns is equal to the amount of relays. First rely is connect with 1 to 1 turn of T/F. When 220V come R1 is operate and give to load 220V. When input voltage reduce to 195V. Then R2 give the signal turn2 and T/F step-up voltage and give 220V. When voltage reduce to 150V. then R3 operate and turn 3 is on and T/F step-up voltage 220V.

Time Relay: Time relay mean to trigger the output circuit with time delay. Its relay work on time. Time feed in the relay selected time completed then time relay operate and out put circuit is connected the supply. This time delay is 3sec. to 5min. which time selected after that time relay operate. Time relay shown in fig(v). Time Relay

Volt meter: A Volt meter is measure the voltage. It is placed on front panel of stabilizer. Its shows the value of input and out put voltage. Two no. of voltage placed in stabilizer on the front panel. One meter shoes the value of input voltage. Other meter is shows the value of out put voltage. A panel volt meter shown in fig (vi). We know that stabilizer is known as voltage stabilizers and regulation. Stabilizers of ac voltage have some types.

Types of stabilizer or Voltage Stabilizers: 1 phase stabilizers 3 phase stabilizers

1 Phase Stabilizers: These stabilizers work on single phase supply at 220V. These rating of 1KVA to 1500 KVA. These stabilizers used for all kind of work. These are used in substations factories and home implements.

Types of 1 phase stabilizers: AC Automatic Voltage Stabilizers & Regulators Single Phase Servo Stabilizers AC Automatic Voltage Stabilizers & Regulators Rack Mount

SAVR Static Stabilizers

3 Phase stabilizers: These stabilizers work on three phase supply at 440V. These rating of 6 KVA to 2500 KVA and up to 2500 KVA. These are used in substations and heavy factories.

Types of three phase stabilizers: Automatic Voltage Stabilizers Automatic Voltage Stabilizers & Regulators Rack Mount
