The Miraculous Responsory By St. Bonaventure

If miracles thou vain would see; Lo, error, death, calamity. The leprous stain, the demon flies, From beds of pain the sick arise. The hungry seas forgo their prey, The prisoner's cruel chains give way; While palsied limbs and chattels lost Both young and old recovered boast. And perils perish, plenty's hoard, Is heaped on hunger's famished board; Let those relate who know it well, Let Padua of her patron tell. The hungry seas... Glory be the Father... The hungry seas... V. Pray for us, blessed Anthony, R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us Pray O God, let the devout commemoration of Blessed Anthony, Thy confessor, be a source of joy in Thy Church, that she may always be fortified with spiritual assistance, and may deserve to possess eternal joy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Additional Prayers to Saint Anthony Saint Anthony's Brief In the 13th century, a Portuguese woman who'd been demonically oppressed resolved to do the unthinkable by taking her own life by drowning herself in the Tagus River. On her way to the river, she passed a shrine erected in honor of the great orator and miracle-worker, St. Anthony of Padua. She stopped to pray, one last time. As she prayed, she saw St. Anthony standing before her, saying, "'Arise woman, and take this paper, which will free you from the molestations of the Evil One." Then he gave her a parchment inscribed with what is now known as the "Brief of St. Anthony," and she was now free from demonic oppression and the desire to do away with herself.

Ecce Crucem Domini, Fugite, partes adversae, Vicit Leo de Tribu Juda, Radix David, alleluia.

Behold the Cross of the Lord! Flee ye adversaries! The Lion of the Tribe of Juda, The Root of David has conquered, alleluia!

Novena in Honor of Saint Anthony Novena in honor of St. Anthony are traditionally recited on thirteen consecutive Tuesdays, per the instructions of Pope Leo XIII; or as a perpetual novena recited on all Tuesdays.

O White lily of purity, sublime example of poverty, true mirror of humility, resplendent star of sanctity. O glorious St Anthony, who didst enjoy the sweet privilege of receiving into thy arms the Infant Jesus, I beseech thee to take me under they powerful protection. Thou in whom the power of working miracles shines forth among the other gifts of God, have pity upon me and come to my aid in this my great need. (Mention your intention). Cleanse my heart from every disorderly affection, obtain for me a true contrition for my sins and a great love of God and of my neighbor that serving God faithfully in this life, I may come to praise, enjoy and bless Him eternally with thee in Paradise. Amen Recite one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be.
