OBJECTIVE Seeking a suitable position in the area of application development on networking/embedded OS system requiring System Architectural skills.

SUMMARY Over Eleven and a half years of experience in the areas of networking software design and development. Exposure to world-class development practices (5+ years in USA), enriching skills and have been pursuing organizational goals. I have assumed the roles of an individual contributor, project leader, and a Team Leader during my career.

SKILLS Operating Systems: VxWorks, UNIX (HP and Solaris, primarily), Linux Domain exposure: RSVP-TE, MPLS, Frame Relay, Inter networking protocols (Frame Relay-ATM), PPP, Embedded System Applications (Event/Fault Management, Forwarding Table Distribution, Statistics collection etc), Network Management (SNMP Api, Mib definition and implementation), Operational Support Systems (OSS) Programming Skills: Proficiency in C and C++ Software Engineering Tools: Clearcase, CVS (version control), ClearQuest (defect/change tracking), shell scripting Debuggers: GDB, Tornado, shell debugging on VxWorks. Software Engineering Skills: Ability to architect and design solution for a given problem within the existing framework of system. Suggest enhancements for implementing newer features as per need. Prepare High Level Design specifications from given Functional Requirements Implement the software. Design efficient and modular architecture and reusable software design Hands on experience in Design and development. Hands on Embedded (Real Time) Application development.

WORK HISTORY Component Owner, Juniper Networks, Inc. Bangalore, India

April 04 – Till date Currently, I am responsible for the Component, Resource Reservation Protocol with Traffic Engineering Extentions (RSVP-TE) based on MPLS. My current responsibilities include • Implementing (functional specification, design, develop, test) customer driven features for the component in coming releases of Junos-e. Presently implementing P2MP Tunnels using RSVP-TE extensions. sustaining component (resolving various customer issues by triage/analysis, fix if required) As part of my work related to RSVP, I have become familiar with RFCs (2205/3209/4090) and BFD. I have gained a valuable insight into the RSVP and related components (MPLS, IGPs [OSPF/ISIS] and LDP) for today’s MPLS based networks. In the recent past I have been B-RAS Accounting (Bulk Statistics) Component owner for Junos-e Platform. (Junos-e is the proprietary OS for Juniper’s ERX/REX Series Routers). Work comprises of RLI (Features) implementations based on customer requirements or internal proposals. Thusfar, implemented features: Virtual Router based statistics collection, VLAN bulk-statistics. Presently working on architectural improvements of bulk statistics component. Worked on Sustaining/Feature enhancements for Junos-e. Work involved feature enhancements and defect resolution related to the JunoseERX series Router software system based on vxWorks using C++.

Technical Lead, Reliance Infocom, Mumbai, India April 03 – April 04 Managing a Team of 10 people in the OSS- Network management integration for Reliance Infocom. Successfully lead the team in development of Performance Management systems for Infocom Switching and Transport Networks. Optimized the data flow path for performance data collection for switching network. Lead the team for developing Configuration, Fault and Performance Interfaces for Access Network comprising edge network equipment. The development was using various Tools / Scripting tools on Solaris environment. The work is part of OSS-Network Integration efforts.

Consultant, Mantra Communications, MD, USA November 01 – March 03 System Integration (FCAPS) of various Network Equipments with the Operational Support System (OSS). This is being done at client site (Mumbai, India). The client is a large Telecom Operator. 

Working on Network Side Integration with OSS. Devices such as Transport Elements (Nortel) , Switches (Ericsson), Routers (CISCO/Juniper), DS3 Multiplexing Equipment, and Fiber monitoring Systems are being integrated for the FCAPS using the OSS(FCAPS-Fault, Configuration, Administration, Performance and Security Management). This has given a significant exposure

in Network Management and above for a flow through provisioning and maintenance of a large telco operations company. It also has enriched my personal abilities (managing a team of 10+ developers).

Member, Technical Staff, Celox Networks Inc, MA, USA November 00 – October 01 Involved in Development of Services Software Design and Implementation of SNMP MIBs, Interfaces & Forwarding Table Distributor, Event Management Module, and Fault Management Software. The software is for (PowerPC processor) the IP Services Communications equipment. Development platform is Sun Sparc for target as well as Unix simulation. Participated in design/definition of MIBs for Chassis, BGP, MPLS, IPC, APS (Automatic Protection Switching) MIB, and implemented them. 

Member, Technical Staff, Hughes Network Systems, MD, USA July 98 – August 00 Involved in Development of Services Software Major responsibilities include development of PVC & TDM Services for Provisioning/Maintenance of end-to-end Services (TDM-TDM/ATM/ATM-FR/ATM-CES) between Hub Terminal and Remote Terminal  Enhancement & Maintenance of AAL5/ HDLC driver software for Fr-Atm Service provisioning and performance optimization/Congestion control implementation Participate in MIB definitions and SNMP interfaces for the embedded Services Development of Port Manager Software for DS1/DS3 Ports Major responsibilities include interfacing with Service Manager and Port Driver for Port Configuration and Maintenance. 

Software Consultant for Integral Systems Inc, MD, USA September 97 – July 98 

Major responsibilities include development of telemetry monitoring and control software for Epoch 2000, a satellite ground control system. This involved interfacing with drivers for device configuration/control and processing real-time telemetry data from satellite. The software makes extensive use of semaphores and shared memory /IPC on the embedded platform.

Software Engineer at Future Software Pvt. Limited, Chennai, INDIA January 96 – August 97 

Design and Development of Point to Point Protocol (PPP) Software

Major responsibilities included development of PPP Software Stack (rfc 1661) over ISDN.

Participated in design and development of State Machine for Link and Network Control Protocols. Support of various Network Layer Protocols such as IP/IPX. Additional responsibilities included Encryption and Compression of data (ECP/CCP) using the relevant RFC framework. Adapting GZIP/DES algorithms for the protocol stack and code optimization for space and time.

ACADEMIC PROJECT Design and development of Semantic Analyzer for Modula 2, an object oriented programming language. The objective is to parse and generate symbol table and verify the semantic and syntactic correctness of a Modula-2 program. The Project enabled to gain a good understanding of compilers and Linkers with different parsing techniques and designing efficient data structures and storage mechanisms. 
