Academic Projects 1. Design of pneumatic hydraulic cleaner Description: A pneumatic is a process of power generation by using compressed air. In large automobile industrial maintenance workshop, machine parts cleaning plants are employed for fast and perfect cleaning. Due to the high cost of this plant, small and medium workshop depends on water jet cleaner. The parts cleaned water jet are further cleaned by Kerosene. It’s difficult to achieve the perfect cleaning by water jet process. The new device developed here elements water jet cleaners and improves the quality of cleaning. It is low cost and better in performance. Besides, it will speed up the cleaning operation and reduce the consumptions of Kerosene. The new cleaner ejects boiling water at high pressure by using compressed air from air compressor. No motors and pumps are needed. At boiling temperature, foreign bodies such as, carbon of the chemical will melt and separate from the surface of the metal. 2. Design and fabrication of robotic arm Description: This device can be used for picking and placing components/equipments etc in a circular region. The device is essentially consists of four parts- The rotary base, Connecting shafts, gripping mechanics, on board video camera, joystick. By monitoring the joystick, we can give the moment to the arm gripper. A video camera will be mounted on the connecting shaft. It will be so placed that the user of this device may not necessarily present at the site of the device. The camera will be sufficient to allow the user to grip components and placed them without being there. A motor will be fitted under the base, which can be made clockwise and anti clockwise with the help of a joystick. It covers the entire 360-degree. The connecting shaft connects the base shafts and the gripping mechanism. The connecting shaft hinged to the other end of the base shaft. The shaft can be move up and down from this point. A motor connected at the hinged end helps in this motions. This mechanism is used to hold the components to be picked. The gripper has been designed in such a manner that the components which it picks should not fall down. This has been done with the help of rubbery material on the inside surface of the gripper. The grip can be open and closed with the help of joystick control. The joystick has full control over the robotic arms. It controls the rotary-based movement, the

connecting lever movement and gripping mechanism. A set of wires will be coming out from the joystick and connects to the underneath of the rotary base. All movement can be controlled fro here.
