CHU NNI KAL AN DI ST T. FATEH GA RH SA HI B
When the sun, moon and the earth all come in a straight line, with the moon in the middle, the shadow of the moon may fall on some portions of the earth. Then a solar eclipse can be seen form these areas on the earth. It the umbra of the shadow falls on the earth, the sun will be blocked totally at these places, and a total solar eclipse can be seen from these areas, in the penumbra region, the sun will be partially blocked by the moon and partial solar eclipse can be seen. When there is a solar eclipse, the umbra sometimes does not fall on the earth at all. A total solar eclipse can then not be seen from anywhere on the earth.
