Social Issue Collage and 3-D Figure Study Objective: To effectively express a personal viewpoint of a social issue through a variety of art mediums.
Requirements: • Explore the website: Art and Social Issues in American Culture • Choose a social issue of personal significance • Gather imagery, statistics, poems, quotes, etc… regarding issue. • Create a collage/environment involving several demonstrated techniques • Create a 3-D clay figure symbolically representing the issue. • Combine collage and figure to create a clear and powerful statement regarding social statement. • Write an artist statement explaining the process and product.
