Dear prospective applicant, Thank you for your interest to joining this exciting course on Social Filmmaking. This is a short guide that answers most of frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the programme and gives you all important information ranging from selection criteria to application deadline. If you still have any questions, please don’t hesitate to write us. Your queries are always welcomed. General Information We get many emails addressing us as a university. Please note that Silver Lining Creation is not a university or a part of any university. It has been registered as a not-forprofit media organization and has due authority to conduct academic sessions, training programs and be part of other learning activities. However, our programs are not aimed at providing students with certain credits which can be supplemented or transferred to other filmmaking courses or academic degrees. We are an open group of independent filmmakers and script writers and most of our workers work voluntarily in order to offer completely free or cheapest services possible. We expect that applicants applying for this programme possess a sense of volunteerism and, when needed, prepare themselves to work for social benefits without expecting anything in return. So the applicant should either come from a developing country or should be able to show his or her interest in the developing world. We also welcome applicants who work or intend to work with indigenous communities, ethnic minorities, and women and in environmentally hazardous regions. This program is most suited for university students, humanitarian aid/relief workers, community workers, NGO workers, advocacy workers, environmental activists, community or region based journalists, independent filmmakers, script writers etc.
